  1. Am I right in saying the 500 head can handle 4 ohms but the 212 and both 410 cabs are only available in 4 ohms , so no modular options.
  2. I took my ashdown 210 neo into a shop and compared it with a 210abm. The abm sounded thicker/ low mids compared to the neos more thinner hi mid voice. Two very different cab designs, and drivers, so not surprising. The neo is nicer to carry!
  3. While not having had the cx 410, I did own two cx 210s. I thought they were good value for the money and put them on a par to the rumble cabs. The spray on texture finish seemed quite fragile. Had them under a old GK 800rb , sounded ok . Awaitng the arrival of the new iv gk cabs at the local store. If Gk says it’s the best cab they have built I’m interested. hope that helps a bit
  4. Yeah trying to get that Bruce Foxton sound, quite bright. where do people set their input and master for gig level volume ?

  6. My settings , output normally set at noon, no valve and no compression , still tweeking some , haven't had it too long. Using Pro Steels on a P, with a pick.
  7. I just recently spoke with Dave Green at Ashdown on a similar subject involving my ABM Evo Iv, I was plugging my i phone into the line in Jack on the back with a auxiliary cord and a quarter inch adapter. He said if nothing was plugged into the input it meant there was a global mute by design, He also said do not plug your iPhone into the line in and as the iPhone was “reversed” and could damage the phone. not exactly sure what that means but it may be something to do with it being a stereo output and the line in is mono perhaps. As the manual says the input can be used to plug-in tape decks or CDs ,so I’m not sure. Is it just an iPhone thing?
  8. Side bar question for ABM owners , when i try and play music from my iPhone by plugging into the line input jack on my ABM i get nothing. I thought thats what it was for, thanks .
  9. I do like a clean bass sound I went Back and forth between the LS and a evo iv 600 Multiple times today in the store , actually thought the evo eq greater than the LS, just wanted the British all tube thing the evo is $999 nzd new so maybe both! I got it more for studio and home anyway seems to get dirty once the drive is past 11 o’clock we are a three piece google Shady Brain Farm for some examples of music type
  10. Well just went and got it its probably not loud enough to gig with (even with a 610) but it’s got great tones Good for studio , home practice will take to the studio on the weekend and report back on the DI
  11. A question for the LS owners. With a trs cable plugged in to a recording console from the LS DI out, and the volume turned down on the amp , but some drive turned up , do you get a signal? With a speaker plugged in of course. ie can it be used as a preamp for silent recording. thanks
