Personally I'd laugh someone out of the band if they suggested a band uniform. Seems you just want different things to the rest of them - weddings/functions take a massive amount of work and perhaps they just don't have the time?

Used to use LaBella "Slappers" (stupid name, but great strings) until the price went astronomical Then I bought a job lot of Ernie Ball Super Slinkies which worked out around £8 a pack, should keep me going for a while

7/0.2 is fine for effects or guitars, I prefer to use multi core as it's more flexible and I find the solder joints are more reliable than single core

[/quote] From what I can gather they are wired the same as in that seymour duncan pic, it doesn't really matter which way round the wires are as the two pickups are in phase - you'll be able to tell if they're not right because the output will be very thin sounding, if this is the case just swap the wires on one half around Hope that makes sense!

The EHX Octave Multiplexer is a decent pedal

I find that a piece of carpet (which I might add was free out of one of them carpet "books" they have in showrooms) works fine.

I modded a USA one a while back with a 3 position switch: Mid scoop, flat and mid boost - it certainly sounded different
