1. Where is this one up to?
2. All their new stuff screams QOTSA, decent.
3. Any roundwounds, and turn up the treble to 5000
4. I bought a Thunderbird from Rossko, arrived quickly and very well packed
5.
Err... The beta is the more expensive version. You're not really sure what you are selling are you?
That might have almost been funny if you spelt it 'Shure'
6. Personally I'd laugh someone out of the band if they suggested a band uniform. Seems you just want different things to the rest of them - weddings/functions take a massive amount of work and perhaps they just don't have the time?
7. Used to use LaBella "Slappers" (stupid name, but great strings) until the price went astronomical Then I bought a job lot of Ernie Ball Super Slinkies which worked out around £8 a pack, should keep me going for a while
8. 7/0.2 is fine for effects or guitars, I prefer to use multi core as it's more flexible and I find the solder joints are more reliable than single core
9.
I wouldn't want to do that, routers need to sit on a dead flat surface, also the neck is in the way
Would be easy enough to curve a template to fit over the body and thick enough to clear the neck
10. Absolutely no chance of posting the cheap metal wall hanger?
11.
Need a bit more help on this due to being an absolute doofus. I wanted to swap out the wires for cloth covered ones (just to match my harness). But being a amateur of epic propertions i forgot to not which hook up wire does what. However, i do know that when i got them they were NOT wired as above. Putting the pups down with the bottoms up from left to right they seemed to be wired : wire to other pup Earth wire to other pup Hot. Pics on the web seem to differ:- http://www.seymourdu...matic=std_pbass for example. Is there anyway of looking at the coils or anything to see which eyelet should connect to which hook up wire?
From what I can gather they are wired the same as in that seymour duncan pic, it doesn't really matter which way round the wires are as the two pickups are in phase - you'll be able to tell if they're not right because the output will be very thin sounding, if this is the case just swap the wires on one half around Hope that makes sense!
12.
Ahhh ok, thanks! I'm from an electrical/electronic engineering backgroud and am starting to dabble with pedal design.. while I have a solid understanding of what adding capacitors et al do from a circuit analysis POV, I have no idea what audible effects they have! If you could get the cap. and res. values / schematic that'd be much appreciated, otherwise I'll just start playing around Cheers! xx
I've got an excel file I can send you with a couple of things I've tried before - flat EQ and a few mid boosts at different frequencies. PM me your email address if you're interested

15.
This. Fingerboard treatments are basically just another way for manufacturers to get people with more money than sense to part with even more of it. People are verging on OCD about stuff like this these days.
£3.50 and had it 8 years so far, not exactly breaking the bank
16.
Any sound clips? D'you know what he actually did to mod it? xx
Download the "Tone Stack Calculator" from Duncan amps - you can change the values of the components and it'll show you the freq. response graphically
17. The EHX Octave Multiplexer is a decent pedal
18. I find that a piece of carpet (which I might add was free out of one of them carpet "books" they have in showrooms) works fine.
19. I modded a USA one a while back with a 3 position switch: Mid scoop, flat and mid boost - it certainly sounded different
