1. I had a vintage modified Jazz. Nice bass, played decent enough - only thing it was seriously heavy and for a natural finish the 3 body sections were a horrible match
2.
I don't like that bass above at all (natural one)....looks INCREDIBLY boring. Mastadon are great but the bass playing and bass lines don't do it for me. The drummer and guitarists are superb though.
Mastodon on the other hand...
3. At least Black Tongue is one of the simpler ones!
4. Is the crack in the finish only, or has the headstock had a knock?
5. As long as the wire from the brass plate is connected to the other ground points on the pots/bridge/socket it'll work fine
6. Sent Harry some acoustic foam, nice guy, cheers
7. I've got a Japanese one, it looks like them in the first pic
8. The first band Muse ripped off
9.
It's nowt Mark D Phillips couldn't "fix"
2 or 3 wood screws should hold it!
10. Sent Paul a preamp valve, nice guy
11. Bought a fuzz pedal from me, fast payment, nice guy, cheers

Gone

Acoustic foam ideal for cab lining, 4 sheets of 31x26cm (pic shows 1 sheet) I need rid of these from the cupboard, couple of quid to cover postage
13. If you make it passive, won't the clean channel act as a feedback loop?
14. Bump, last item price drop
15. As mentioned, you need the Shin Ei FY-2 Companion Fuzz. Mega money for an original, or pick up a good clone for around £40-50
16.
Crackling is suggestive of an intermittent contact somewhere. Could be that the conductors were OK when tested but become intermittent when the cable is used in a different position and moving about. Alternatively, could be a poor/dirty contact within the bass and/or amp sockets. Sometimes the socket contacts that press against the jack contacts lose their 'spring' and make a loose connection and/or don't rub off any tarnishing on the plug contacts when inserted. This can also cause a poor, crackly connection. Might be worth giving the jack plugs a good clean with a clean cloth. Have you tried a different cable?
I have done, it is definitely this cable. I have too much random guitar stuff, hance the various threads on here lately
17.
Hello, With all the barefaced love that we get on these pages I was wondering if anyone had tried them along with other high end cabs, bergs, vanderkley etc? In all your playing days what cabs really stand out?
The best sounding cab I've played through was a battered 1970's guitar 4x12 - not particularly loud but had some nice "natural" distortion The Schroeder in my sig does exactly what I need it to - very very loud yet provides the sound I'm after, lightweight and much cheaper on the used market than other cabs mentioned here
18. Approx 3m/10ft, Neutrik connectors (right angle to straight), crackling signal but I can't find why - both conductors test ok on a meter No longer available
19. Paul bought a pickup from me, nice easy sale thanks
