Gutted. Can you see the point where the wires join the pickup and if there's any damage there? Hope you can exchange for another one mate

That's too low to measure a pickup Connect the pickup straight across the output socket and play through an amp (start the amp at zero volume just in case it's loud)

Use the 20k option on your meter edit: On the ohm setting

Every 5 I've ever played - The E is great and the B is terrible, or vice versa I used to play one in my old band, but everything was drop D with a lot of open notes and tuning ADADG didn't feel good

ProCo Rat is a decent pedal, or the Turbo Rat with a few tweaks
