1.
Cheers, it is one of the older Boss pedals (made in Taiwan) & has ACA on the bottom. I have been running it for a good year or more off a Godlyke Powerall on a daisychain with a cheap distortion pedal & a Moog LPF (using a polarity adaptor) & had no problems. The "Check" light doesn't come on at all. Hmm, there's a thought, power supply??? The distortion now seems rather noisy when engaged (might be me). The Moog's running fine, but apparently it'll run off almost anything as long as you have the correct polarity & give it enough amps to draw. I'm going for a test of PSUs.
Does the CE-2 work properly with a battery?
2. Is it a big older one in the steel case? I'd offer to take a look at it, except I'm up in the north west. The LED mod is really simple, just a case of swapping a few wires around. The circuit boards are a pig to work on though, two sandwiched boards with loads of little wires between them
Can any of you builders help? http://basschat.co.u...rking-properly/
Replied
4. How old is it? The older Boss pedals run on a Boss ACA adaptor rather than the newer PSA one or a power brick etc. There will be a sticker by the power jack on the pedal telling you which supply to use. If its an ACA, this will be your problem as that is a 12V power supply compared to the 9V PSA/power brick. Would explain the glitchiness... Also, this can sometimes be fixed by running another pedal on the same 9V power supply.
5. The show must go on
6. Too bright, like staring at a light bulb. Are there any alternative skins?
7. The best 5-string I've played in terms of low-B feel and sound was an Ibanez SRsomething, using them stepped strings with the exposed core on the saddles.
8. 6 multi posts in a row, impressive.
9. #1 Everything louder than everything else

11. At least they picked the right amp in their "10 best live bass amplifiers under £1000"

OOF
13. PM sent, read 24th Aug. No reply.
14. The Ashdown ABM900 head is a pair of 575W amps that run at 4ohms
15. A guitarist with a 412. Our ex guitarist was only just tall enough to adjust the amp controls on his.
16. One time the singer forgot the lyrics and just started screaming "STOP!" down the mic
17.
Im getting an ashdown mag 307w 2x10 bass combo. I will probably be adding a 1x15 cab to it, but my question is. How far could a 2x10 take you for metal gigs? before it gets to the point where i just HAVE to use the extra cab
IME the ashdown 15" speakers are not great - a little on the quiet side. Having a pair of 210's will leave you with volume to spare
18.
oops forgot to say Ashdown 300 watts are not the loudest amp goin and it may only give 300 watt with the extension cab at whatever ohms,I might be wrong but without the extension it may only put out 180 watt. someone will correct me if I,m wrong, just goin off the top of my head. You might be better off getting something round the 500 watt mark as you don,t have to turn all the way up,but you will have plenty of headroom and some extra muscle if needed.
Through the same cab, the difference between 300 and 500W is negligible. Your overall volume is limited by the fact you only have two 10" speakers.
19. Where about in Liverpool mate? And could you send some songs over- I'll PM my address
20. http://www.bitsbox.co.uk/cable/cable.html Third option down "Stranded Wire 16/0.2mm" @ 15p per metre, is what I prefer for wiring guitars Or a little further down is the shielded stuff @ 35p per metre
21. Singer in my old band has a 58 that was run over by a Transit and still works fine
22. Stick it on ebay, make yourself 40 quid
23.
Pups - Seems SD quater pounders and Wizard Thumpers are the choice of the descerning BCer. Again, are these both direct replacements that require no mods?
If you're after traditional P-bass sound look elsewhere.
24. I once got a comment "I thought your bass was going to sound like a cheap P-bass copy"
