Octave pedal

Take a look at the EHX Octave Multiplexer. The only issue might be the blend control of original signal/octave down rather than two separate controls, you do get high and low filters though
  2. What's the neck pocket like? Decent fit?

In work we once had to listen to this every day of the week during R2's Pop Master, we were all suicidal by Wednesday.

  6.
Almost time to hit the studio again. This time around we're planning on using a different engineer and producer. However I'm fairly picky when it comes to recording as you'll see....... Usually my sound comes from a blend of direct bass, a reamped signal through a JCM 900 into a gk goldline miked with a bog standard SM57 and a reamped signal through the TE into an Ampeg 4x10 with a Ribbon(+ pop filter) mike at the cone and an AKG D 11 at the port. Sounds tricky I know but its a good mix. I usually only get away with it when recording with our usual guy and have lots of time, but with a new engineer time may be tight and I might not be able to run that set up. So, how do y'all record yer bass tracks? I'm looking for mic suggestions, plugins, anything really.
DI

  8. One time we forgot to pick up the singer.
  9.
The logical conception for the bass guitar encompasses six strings.
Why? A four string bass with 21 frets covers 4 octaves, well more than is necessary.
Sorry bud, I've read thru the other posts & the OP hasn't said it's the 16 ohm (it was in a couple of other posts that it could be). He could still rewire it to draw 7.5 ohms & the Trace should still run them ok (if slightly warmer). Anyway, whether it's 15 or 16 ohms I wouldn't bother with the hassle of rewiring it.
The only impedance you can have with the cab is 16 or 4 ohm. Without disconnecting 2 of the speakers you can not attain 8ohm however you wire it.

  22.
If 4x10 cabs are wrong , then why do people keep buying them . If it sounds crap , then we wouldn't use them , even if the badge says Berg,Epi or whatever .
+1, the ABM410 I had was the best cab I've owned/played through, the sound I wanted was just there and I got nothing but compliments about how good it sounded. Not a bad result for a cab that is "wrong"...
  23.
I actually found one of these on the street once by some bins, and got it home with 3 other friends. They really do weigh more than the earth!
Similar story we found an unbranded one outside a pub and between 3 of us carried it several miles to my mates house
  24. Funny that getting the "right sound" is more difficult than the actual basslines
