Is it... Ghostbusters 2?
-
So is the tour still going on? Because the other thread was closed for no apparent reaso

The two Pedulla Rapture that are on there were at £1250, then £2000, now £999... Too much for the RB-4 (1995), but sounds about right for the incorrectly dated RBPJ-4 (2006)
i use a file and take the top layer off so you can solder to it with no problems..
Should mention I do this too, clean all the gunk and oxidation off the casing. My 30W iron just isn't powerful enough.

I just used superglue when I had a tolex 4x10, worked great.

Will be giving the black P it's first outing at the next one I think.
Yeah it can be a pain sometimes. I have a wee boost button on mine which takes it from a 25w iron to a 130w in seconds just for such jobs.
Handy. I use a mini bunsen burner

I hate soldering onto pots, you need a lot of heat on it really fast and localised to get a good join without killing the carbon track. A regular iron doesn't quite cut it.

You are gona have a blast at the Cheshire Cheese gig, haha some odd sorts in there mate.
eBay is fine yeah but the trouble is that I don't want anything ridiculously heavy since I already shelled out a load of money on a MARKBASS speaker cabinet so there would be no point throwing away that advantage with a really heavy head!
Save up for a used MB head to match?
Don't think the driver comes in 4 ohm, so can't make them. Super 12 is for that.
£150 more and the odd shape puts the super 12 out of the running for me.
The ABM gear didn't go wrong as seperates... The Combos did... Anyhow, i don't lose sleep over it anymore, as we stopped being a dealer in 2007 ish. Probably all much better now though eh? Sorry i upset the Ashdown owners Club. Love to all Ashdown owners...
Chill baby, I was only kidding
I spent 3 years as a dealer watching a 7 in 10 return rate.
Maybe so, but how many of them were UK built ABMs?
This guy is bloody ridiculous....anyone know who he is? Making Robbie Williams sound good!>?! Let Me Entertain is now worth listening to! Cheeky little runs galore, playing a Black Fender Precision through an Ashdown (or at least he's standing in front of an Ashdown - sounds a bit too good, and it's not on fire, so i doubt it's plugged in). Anyhow, very glad i waited around to watch this, his band are f***ing ace. For a gash tune. Trav
Har har, thats what an Ashdown sounds like, duno what shite you're playing through

Or just use the volume control on the bass...
Totally agree with Marco on these points. The quality of construction is great, but a few of the details of the finish do slightly let the package down IMO. Having tried the previous touring Compact I think I prefer the metal grille plate to the "Fender-style" cloth (which could also be a bit tighter...). The painted coating on the cab is a bit "slippery", so you may need a non-slip mat or something to stop the amp being accidentally pulled off the top... Anyway, I used the Compact with my LH500 at rehearsals on wednesday evening. I enjoyed the sound a lot, and the best thing of all is that my 12 year old son could carry the cab in one hand into the studio!! How cool is that?! Once it was set up, it did look a bit small compared to the Ashdown stack that I am used to (No sh*t, Sherlock!) but the sound soon showed that size does not matter. Punchy but deep. Rounded and warm. Smooth but biting. Clear but raunchy... It certainly brought the mid-range to the fore far more than the 410s do, which was nice as I like a rather "mid-heavy" tone. Volume wise, it had no problem at all - even though at 8 ohms the amp would only be putting out around 300w. It would be great if the Compact was available as a 4ohm version as well. Our keyboard player (who is also a sound engineer) was very impressed with the sound. The guitarist thought the tone was great, and cut through well - but as he put it, he could "hear me, but not feel me". Which I take to mean that some of the real low end was missing. Not sure I agree with him, but he's entitled to his opinion I guess! If nobody minds (I think WoT is next in line) I'd like to use that cab again this wednesday as we try to nail some new tracks. The style of music, BTW, is mostly eighties rock and "hair-metal" kinda thing (Van Halen, Winger, etc), so fairly straightforward bass lines that really need to cut through and provide a sound foundation to the guitars and keys. So, all in all, a great cab that does exactly what it says on the tin. One or two minor drawbacks (finish quality and 8ohm impedance chiefly), but it's main advantage is it's mass. I just can't believe how light it is! And that quality pretty much outweighs the minor niggles.
The 8ohm issue is worrying me too, as my amp classes as "totally weedy" according to the website. Good marketing there

Holy sh*t, £250 just to match the volume?
i have this in the amp section too however i may get a speedier responce here. As the title suggests folks. Just seeing if theres any cabs out there with 2ohm impedance?????????? If so, does anyone have one for sale???????
If the speakers in your ampeg 4x10 are all 8ohm, you can rewire it to 2ohm.

Not too far from me, but I suspect it's bigger than my car

Only an SVT can drive it
... says the man with a Pedulla Rapture :D
But it has a soapbar pickup, and second hand only cost slightly more than a MIM would now

Expensive Fender copies.
