2. Looks surprisingly nice
3.
+1, an active bass will have a stronger signal so will drive it more, kinda like having the gain at 11.
Wrong, e.g. my passive P-bass kills my active Pedulla in terms of volume
4.
IMO neither sounds remotely dull or like a generic 15 (surely that was a wind up ?) but whatever. You can hear masses of top end off those cabs (admittedly rather fizzy from the OD pedal but hey its there), and both rigs did a brilliant job of getting the sound that was wanted and drowning out the rest of the neighbourhood in bass.
Not a wind up, just sounds like the tone I hated but had to put up with with my first amp. I can't describe it, it's just there
5. That was ace, nice one.
6. They both sound like a dull SS amp through a generic 15" cab in an acoustically bad room, but I voted number 2.
7. We set up amps and PA in a friends back garden for his birthday, and also once played in a Conservative members club and got a lifetime ban
8. "Performance benefits of a thermally modified microstructure" aka BURNT
9. I use a £10 Behringer SM58 rip-off
10. Assuming your cabs are both 8ohm you can go with your proposed method or run both cables from the back of the amp to each cab - either way ends up the same. With the latter option though one cab will alwys be connected if a cable fails.
11. Where is "near Birmingham"?
12. It's a good idea to take a picture of the insides before you start so you have a guide where everything goes back (just in case)
13. Desolder, resolder, done.
14.
This ebay shop is great for price & fast delivery, if you can do the soldering? Jack Socket they have plenty of other types, the one in the link is a stereo, I know nothing about your particular bass but most are mono out - do you use a stereo jack lead? Cheers, John
The output isn't stereo, but a stereo jack is used to switch the active circuit on when the mono jack is inserted.
15. I use this odd tuning, "EADG" or something...
16.
aye but if he he delivered it to you personally,,,,that means he would know where you live,,,,as its already clear he is a robbin bastard,,,i think its a bit dodgy he knows your EXACT address and house layout!!!!!haha
Careful, he is "determinated" to sell the bass
17. Bump
18. I have this "wide" version too, I think they must have had surplus heads originally destined to be fitted into a combo. It is too wide to be rack mounted.
19.
Aaargh.... Want.... But don't need..... Damn it! How does it play? And where in the NW are you?
PM'd
20. Bump - any offers?

24.
I'm probably going to get flamed here, but I think guitar cabs (as opposed to bass cabs) are less about the design of the cab and more about your choice of driver. Just my experience/opinion. Ask yourself what you're going to use it for, what amp you're going to use it with, how much you want to spend, and then you should get a pretty good idea about what you need to do. Personally for guitar I'd stick with 12" drivers.
This tbh.
