Any manufacturer is always going to get speakers that fail after 1 hour and some that work forever. You were just unlucky I guess. You can't really blame the amp, you can only push 180W (RMS) into an 8ohm load if you have the input and output on full whack.

I've got the 4-string single pickup version which sounds amazing. Body and neck are both maple so it has a very bright sound. Bartolini pickups and 2-band preamp give you good control over the tone, though I run it flat 99% of the time. They're fairly light, the body is small and contoured so they are very comfortable to play. The neck is thinner front to back than a Jazz bass, 1.5" nut width, with a dual action truss and two reinforcing rods - once it's been set up properly you very very rarely have to adjust it, plus you can have the action down to a little over 1mm at the 12th fret no problem. Build quality is fantastic as you would expect from a £2000 instrument, however I would never spend that much on any bass

I had an ABM410 before buying a Schroeder 1210 and took me months of messing to get my "sound" again. Lost a lot of low end but gained lots of mids...

Is your bass collection worth more than your car?
Rover 25, 100k miles, uses more water than petrol = about the same as all my gear
Update, bought Schroeder and new car since. Car is now definitely worth more -

All the basses I've owned have been 19mm

I try to keep it in good nick but it's already got a fair few dints scrapes etc so I'm not too bothered if there's another one.
it powers it and runs fine (as of now_ im just hoping that it wont effect it in the long run? will having a battery in there as well as the PSU connected keep the voltage stricted to 9v?
Do what you like and good luck. No, because the battery is disconnected when the PSU adaptor is plugged in.

Keep us posted on here, I think I'm banned from TB

It probably won't work and you run the risk of frying some components, I wouldn't risk it.
And thats why Alex is wasting time. The level of ignorance of technical matters on this forum is staggering, and from the regular repeated questions it seems most have no interest in improving their knowledge. I have seen some blazing flame wars because somebody said
I hope this isn't aimed at my response
The only real specs I'll pay any real attention to are the are freq range and RMS figure.
Both of which tell you practically nothing

Mark King must be pretty good then, he's up to level 42
It's a little difficult to me to express what I want to say, I'm spanish... Maybe I said "bass" instead of lows. What I'm trying to say is that a cab like a Schroeder 1212 (I have one) claims that can take 800W RMS, and with a flat EQ and a passive bass maybe can take 500W without fart. I have a Barefaced Compact, wich says that can take 450W, and I push it with 450W and EQ with some lows without any farting. I don't know if now it's more clear... And about loudness, I play a lot of reggae outdoor gigs with PA only for vocals. For a low bass sound is necessary a lot more power than for a midrangey sound without real lows (and maybe this is better for cut in a dense mix). I really don't understand "bullshit" but it seems that is not a good thing...
I mean that very few cabs are going to take 800W of bass/lows. Plus you need a pretty beefy amp to push that kind of power. Sorry mate, the "bullshit" part wasn't aimed at you or anyone in particular
This thoughts are real, I wanted a CL104 but I'm afraid that isn't capable of go enough loud fo me. The tone I like very much, but I doubt it will take 600W of reggae bass sound...
Leaves me wondering just how much bass you need in reggae, I very much doubt you will be pushing anywhere near 600W of "bass" Also wondering how many people bullshit how much volume they "need"? My old band played painfully loud using just my homebuilt 2x10 rig (eminence beta), bits and pieces connected together for the singers PA and a H&K Warp7 with 4x12 cab...
Where has my post gone..?? I can find NO record of it anywhere...what the f*** has happened...? If a mod has deleted it, I would expect a note and an explaination and a VERY good reason And how come someone can delete MY posts...unless a MOD..?? NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL
One of mine got deleted too. I think I'll live though.

I have an OC-2 and that style Octave Multiplexer. Both are very different even though they're meant to do the same thing
Specs on paper mean nothing. Performance in the real world means everything.
Yeah, I'm gona go to a shop to test out the weight of a cab because '30kg' on paper means nothing
So out of interest, can you list the Vd for a few well known cabs that might be thought of as rivals for the Barefaced dollar? e'g. GS112s, Bergantino, Schroeder, EBS, Epifani etc?
The Schroeder 1212L (with eminence deltalite speakers) = 510cc. For any cabs using eminence speakers you can find the data here: http://www.eminence.com/resources/params.asp

IME analogue pedals are affected less by a drop in voltage (to a certain point) but digitals need to be run close to 9V. They'll work to a point but then completely cut out after that, whereas the analogues will continue operation albeit with strange effects I wouldn't trust a battery reading 8.7V at a gig, try taking out any digital effects (the EHX and Korg are analogue afaik, is the EBS octave digital?). Another idea - is there enough juice from the power supply (in terms of mA) to power all the pedals?
-
Sincerely best of luck, Muse is a pretty tough tribute IMO. In terms of vocals and effects definitely.
-
Best of luck.
An interesting challenge would be to see how a Barefaced cab survives a 6' drop compared to a standard cab - I suspect the lighter cab is likely to suffer less damage.
Or possibly more damage because it is very rigid design.
