1. An electro-acoustic bass would be nice, or another Pedulla.
2.
Doesn't hate active basses, this is a misconception. It just doesn't NECESSARILY work AS well with SOME actives. I use mine with an active bass and it sounds brilliant, but I have seen video reviews of it with other active basses and it sounds like an enormous pile of sh*te. There is also a middle ground, where it just sounds slightly off, but you'd be the only one to notice in all liklihood. It depends on individual basses, but if your main bass is an active then it is important to bear in mind that there may be in issue.
+1 my Pedulla is a bit marmite with it. The shithouse BEAD precision sounds immense though.
3. The nut will probably need filing to accept bigger strings. I didn't have an issue with the truss rod, only needed to adjust intonation and saddle height at the bridge. I'm using 70-85-105-125 gauge strings on a 33½" scale if that's relevant in any way
4.
Sure, no problem: http://www.met.police.uk/
http://cms.met.police.uk/met/boroughs/king...on/pedal_cycles ?
5.
You could make your own if you're handy with a soldering iron - it's quite a simple circuit that has various veroboard layouts posted around t'interweb.
+1
6. Worth noting mine is one of the "modern" ones in the hammond style metal box
7. I have one and an OC2. Very good IMO but completely different beast to the Boss. The clean/octave blend is nice, tracking is definitely better for guitar vs the OC2. Not much in it for bass guitar, low note tracking pretty similar. Enjoy
8. I had a similar situation with my old band. I really enjoyed the music but it was the same gig in the same venue every week. Playing to a sh*t crowd, sh*t soundguy, sh*t bands always asking to use your gear, "paid" in drinks which the singer either drank himself or gave away to whatever girl happened to be in the vicinity. In the end I just had no motivation to play with them, turn up for practice, bother to hang around after we'd performed so called it a day...
9. 1989 Offspring self titled album?
10.
Billy superglues his fingernails!
Great comment on there: "all bassists keep trimming their nails all the way and as often as possible - otherwise they would fly off just after few gigs. It must be in something else - i guess it can be just from very long term (like 30 yrs) hard pressure on the fingertips.."
11. Just means that the plug is capable of handling 13A, not that the appliance will draw 13A and thus need a 13A fuse
12.
Hi there! my name is Viaceslav. I am from Cologne (Germany). I play bass. This is my first day at this forum. And here is my first video as a introducing myself. I hope, you enjoy it. Slap on Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor
Needs more cowbell Welcome.
13. My first gig was a covers band in a nightclub. I got smashed on guinness and passed out on a sofa, ended up covered in coats and the rest of the band were going mad trying to find me before our stage slot
14.
Are you sure? They haven't been around for long.
Positive, it was around May/June in candy apple red.
15. Oh man, I was tempted by one of these on eBay when they first came out but lack of reviews put me off - they were priced at £340
16.
IMHO, I'm never surprised to hear of Ashdown amps doing the same thing, as they were developed by ex-TE engineers weren't they??
When I was changing the valve in my Ashdown ABM I looked and there are about 8 glass fuses in there. At least one on each of the circuit boards, two big ones on the output, time-delay before the power supply, etc. TE with a few improvements
17. I would look for an Ashdown 2x10 combo rather than the 1x15
18. We had a keyboard amp catch fire (hot light bulb tweeter protector vs wadding) at a band practice when the singer used it as a PA. Also the same singer destroyed a PA head by putting a wrong rating fuse in the power supply and melted the IEC socket and the end of the power lead together. They were both sh*t amps that had been left in our practice space (a rotting barn) for years anyway.
19. To change my project bass from 11 to 14mm I plugged with dowel and used a flat bit, no need to even sand the dowel flush to the headstock as long as it's all clamped and marked up correctly. As with anything, take your time especially when breaking through to the back of the headstock
20. Someone must want these for a project?
21. Elites Stadium 110's
22. I've got a Japanese one only because it was the only one I saw for sale. There is also an "octaver" version that people ask silly money for - also no difference.
23. Google says 17 miles/25 mins each way. Becomes a real PITA when you get there finding out no one has even bothered to learn the new songs and then we get stuck on the same song we've been playing for three weeks.
