But as there are two of these drivers what does this mean in terms of excursion-limited power handling?

The reason for the impedance is the restriction of speaker values- 4ohm, 8ohm, 16ohm etc. The 5.33 ohm impedance is due to 3 pairs of 8ohm speakers wired in parallel, just treat it as you would a 4ohm cab
