  1. So, something like this for the necks…
  2. Because they are so expensive they know that only people as well off as them can afford them. Why buy a Lacoste t-shirt when it's made in the same factory as a Primark one? (probably).
  3. Feeling Strangely Fine - Semisonic. On a bit of a post/semi-nu/alt-grunge (whatever you want to call it) kick. This was a great album back then and it's still just as good. Their other offerings, and their newest EP are also cracking.
  4. You could perhaps change the knobs for plastic ones. Yeah: forgot about the specialist bridge.
  5. Can you put a lighter bridge on? Are the knobs metal?
  6. It's close to a band replacement unit. All they need to do is put in an auto-play feature for octave up that goes slightly out of tune and tempo during solos, and you can do away with your lead guitarist!
  7. So basically the tech behind the ADAM has been rolled out to the A/O. Any cleverer and it will be making tea and toast. Edit: and as usual, no expense spared on the marketing video. There'll be people throwing their wallets at it like Homer.J.Simpson watching tv shopping channels.
  8. Great shots Wot! Si King too! Guess he is a local lad too. Is that Tynemouth station with the 3 ladies in? The older original railway station plucks at my brainpan.
  9. I’ve got D’Addario half rounds, a good compromise.
  10. @binky_bass - err, you're up again with the knowledge of the extra-string-things.
  11. Where should it be done then?
  12. Working on that basis; Jon Anderson should be flat broke!
  13. Rush did the same: viewing it as equal contribution to the band being the band - beyond just writing and arranging. All the give and take in bands that the members' bring: 'this part's rubbish, try this,' 'How's this for an album cover idea?' etc. It makes sense unless you are literally the one who does everything. It avoids complicated arguments and legal wranglings later: The Smiths, Pink Floyd, etc. etc.
  14. Condos are generally privately owned with the owners all being on the building’s board that approves new owners and regulates the maintenance fees.
  15. I recall the halogen days of the late 90s when Newcastle had 8 guitar shops in town: a tota mecca of new and used instruments. I think half of them are gone now. Halifax used to have a guitar shop, tucked away in Dean Clough, that moved into town for a few years, even opening a cafe in the larger space. It’s gone now too. Nearest one to me now is Aire guitars in Bradford (very small) or PMT in Leeds. Even Cleckheaton had an instrument shop at one time; they specialised in ye olde stringed instruments and historical items.
  16. Yep: watch a video where he plays Lateralus in the studio. There’s one that lets you see his hands and feet in separate times: one-man polyrhythm machine.
  17. Oh - the upper 606 micro-climate. I know it well I'm exactly at the other end.
  18. It’s sunny here in Cleckheaton at the office.
  19. Wow. Different. Umm. It’s like a new album from a band you’ve not listened to for years: weird and hard to pin down but grows on you steadily.
  20. Let the bidding commence!
  21. I loved his playing on the Pop album. Great noises and lines.
  22. Is that next to Timperley tram stop? I keep droving past to/from the in-laws.
  23. McDonalds! The Harley Benton of take-out coffees.
  24. A coffee? Yeah I bought one too…
