Next week? Tis fortnightly round most parts... unless it’s in the recycling. (which bin is best for Metal?)
-
Baby on the way! What's some chilled bass driven songs to play?
Daz39 replied to Friskydingo's topic in General Discussion
Congrats! You'll never be rich again! Although you probably kissed that goodbye when you bought first a car, and then a house Some Metal - bit of Maiden will have the sprog moshing along. -
Keane? They started as Drums, Keys and Vox, right? Think they have a bassist now.
-
So - now you're instrument fettler to the stars - official like - you should buy a small bass rig for the testing and pre-noodling of your post-works bass bits.
-
Which is doubly daft because every PC sold online is one easier reason to close a store location down for lack of sales...

well known artists that never or hardly ever do gigs
Daz39 replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion
Oh - I don't mean to malign them. I think they're having the time of their lives, a time they didn't think they would have at this stage of their lives - but the enduring popularity of metal and their own brand means they could fill any stadium anywhere. I just wish they'd spend more time making new albums -

Yes - the antithesis - they seem to spend all their time away from family touring. I can't imagine any of them need some money for a replacement hip or pension pot, unlike Aerosmith who snorted all theirs. -

Just been reading up on XTC, inspired by the above posts, gosh music managers in the 80s were a special breed of t**ts weren't they! I hope they all died of horrible diseases in their villas on the Costas. -
TMS Podcast: View from the Boundary. I love these chats with people of note who happen to be cricket fans. Today it was Toby Jones; actor, master of a thousand weary expressions, and lifelong cricket fan.

I was just reading that in my inbox. @Quatschmacher you rule!

Lovely noise, i’ll have to cheat and get the ehx pedal instead!
-
Oh well that's bargainous then! I love the contrast of the back of the headstock and the neck. Also - I do not envy you the electronics exam. I'd have melted trying to remember my pre-GCSE physics.
-
Lovely work - questione though - presume @wwcringe provided the H pickup - it would have been cool to have exposed poles like the others: was one not used due to preference of quality of pickup or not wanting a headache at all the extra poles?

Now that's a story! -
My brain is over-sensitive just reading all this! I, and many players, would probably just want to listen to a couple of cabs through the same amp to hear the difference in volume and tone at the range of volumes you're likely to use. (boring answer!) I think the marketing and design is often the biggest factor in swaying preference on how 'good' a cab is: e.g. (3 random brands at 3 price ranges) - Vanderkley, Markbass, Bugera. - even though if you can bear it long enough, a detailed look at what specs are decipherable would probably leave them in that order of 'good' anyway.
-
At least she found more freedom in her work away from TH. It's an argument to be sure: whether the creative leadership (dictatorship) of one person in a band - e.g. Mr Byrne, is to the overall detriment of the 'supporting' players to the benefit of the band's output.
-
Yeah - The Patient is better than The Grudge any day! I tend to agree - it's why many bands take longer between albums as they reach their 40s and beyond: they have families, and hobbies, and money to indulge both. It's like GRR Martin and the ASOIAF books - he owes his readers nothing and will publish what he wants, when he wants. You can choose to be disappointed but there it is. I have only listened to the album once - it's far better than Dream Theater's latest release, that's for sure. Ah the Klon pedal - and all the many super-expensive boutique Tubescreamer and 'legendary RAT' versions out there - just get a Source Audio OFD and have them all there in one box
