Look on talkbass at the dingwall forum: more mods than you will know what to do with; esp around selector switching, Sheldon even gives wiring diagrams to help.
nerdy : isn’t this an NG-5 3x?
He'll be too busy rolling around on the bed with them, as previously mentioned. Just make sure he doesn't hurl them up in the air like notes - that would be rather a headache.
I like the original pic the OP has - the other ones with horns and fuller body just look like more regular short-scales. I thought the WB was sposed to be ultra-portable!!
I strike sort of towards the frets, rather than perpendicular - there's definitely some tap of the finger against the frets for clank - and sometimes it's full on slap-sound. I struggle to get a light touch - I can't use an amp at enough volume to play lightly (because inevitable louder striking would get me grief from downstairs.) also I have played unplugged for most of my life (for quietness reasons) and need to strike harder to actually hear the note.
I do move about from bridge to front pickup as required - you do get a different feel and sound. And sometimes I rest my hand on the bridge and use all fingers (and thumb on the E) for arpeggio stuff. It feels much easier than moving up and down with the index and middle on a 4 string as the spacing is large.
Play all the way through? pfft - probably only a few dozen. Most of them will be Rush songs, a few ones by U2, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater and the like.
I can play bits of hundreds - probably enough to learn the whole song if I were ever in a band and it was required.
