US firms of suitably massive size go into and out of Chapter 11 all the time: airlines love doing it. It’s like a CVA but even more in favour of the company and gives them plenty of leeway to slash costs (jobs!) before rebadging or merging.
They probably are a good target for buyout, would much change though?
Nooo. Recovering the Satellites is amazing and has me in tears half the time. Agree that the next few albums are a mixed bag but the last album (so far), Somewhere under Wonderland is brilliant.
August is utterly captivating though, who doesn’t love it?
Reverb? Try the new Ventris from Source Audio - so clever it has 2 engines. But it is something like £300, so yeah, not super-affordable.
That said - this sort of stuff is complicated!
I have a half round set of theirs on my bass - lovely things. And yes - there are several threads on here that attest to D'addario's customer service excellence.
Admit it - you were going for a Flea-style solo and got entirely carried away!
I was just about to suggest you take 2 strings off before getting to the end of your post....!
Have a look on the non-UK websites of Ibanez - there might be one for another market. e.g. the excellent Portamento comes in a 6 but initially is only for the US. (Bah, humbug!)
I’m not; it’s the attitude that only a Fender P (a US one at that) is sufficient.
You’ve also derailed a thread about dream purchases with a very narrow minded opinion.
Ooh - I would really like a Wal, or a Chapman Grand Stick. I'm not sure I will be able to afford either of those even if I save earnestly for the remaining 8 1/2 years until I turn 50!
Were '76 Fenders of any variety any good? Always been bemused by the YOB thing - us oldies are lucky though that we have relatively few brands to choose from - imagine being born now and trying to pick a Brand for YOB...
He does do some nice fusion work on the Niacin albums. I agree - the tone can get a bit too much; and sometimes the tapping goes beyond tasteful, but he is a very skilled player and must be an awesome player to work with.
