  1. Nooo. Recovering the Satellites is amazing and has me in tears half the time. Agree that the next few albums are a mixed bag but the last album (so far), Somewhere under Wonderland is brilliant. August is utterly captivating though, who doesn’t love it?
  2. Phew, it’s only a 4! My wallet is safe. Someone will snap this up.
  3. It’s ok; that’s US hundreds of thousands. Probably only half a furlong’s worth...
  4. Reverb? Try the new Ventris from Source Audio - so clever it has 2 engines. But it is something like £300, so yeah, not super-affordable. That said - this sort of stuff is complicated!
  5. I have a half round set of theirs on my bass - lovely things. And yes - there are several threads on here that attest to D'addario's customer service excellence. Admit it - you were going for a Flea-style solo and got entirely carried away!
  6. That headstock - to quote the annoying hose of Triple D - is Out of Bounds!! 1 Pickup - 4 knobs and a switch?! Does it make toast?
  7. Melted Wispa on dark muscovado? Mmmmm
  8. Oof - that's horrible news. I'm not allowed another Bass, or I'd be sorely tempted!
  9. Mmm a Geddy. GAS! Wait - you need to fiancé a new car? That's ambitious.
  10. Says the Fender troll. Go sealion some other forum.
  11. I was just about to suggest you take 2 strings off before getting to the end of your post....! Have a look on the non-UK websites of Ibanez - there might be one for another market. e.g. the excellent Portamento comes in a 6 but initially is only for the US. (Bah, humbug!)
  12. A fiat fight - one that breaks down fairly quickly. (although not as quickly as an Alfa fight - which lasts until shortly before squaring up time.)
  13. I’m not; it’s the attitude that only a Fender P (a US one at that) is sufficient. You’ve also derailed a thread about dream purchases with a very narrow minded opinion.
  14. Like owning a Ford Focus you mean? ubiquitous and therefore best?
  15. Ooh - I would really like a Wal, or a Chapman Grand Stick. I'm not sure I will be able to afford either of those even if I save earnestly for the remaining 8 1/2 years until I turn 50! Were '76 Fenders of any variety any good? Always been bemused by the YOB thing - us oldies are lucky though that we have relatively few brands to choose from - imagine being born now and trying to pick a Brand for YOB...
  16. He does do some nice fusion work on the Niacin albums. I agree - the tone can get a bit too much; and sometimes the tapping goes beyond tasteful, but he is a very skilled player and must be an awesome player to work with.
  17. That's a nice colour and love the pickup combo.
  18. Yeah *keeps safe distance* - if you can hear it glowing, it's too much.
  19. Oof - that's a beauty. Thank goodness it's not a 5 or a 6...
  20. I think the best definition of 'is a band *really, really* metal' is if the font they use for the band name could be mistaken for a Relentless energy drink. The more indecipherable the lettering, the closer to death (or beyond death?!) the music.
