But looking at Talkbass you’d think the lack of a tuner is the worst business decision since the Fender Dimension.

Do you need something to iron your clothes on ?

Doh - I'm in the forgotten wastelands of NW West Yorkshire. I did have a go on a 6-string once and found it great fun. I can only imagine the possibilities of an 8+ . I would really love a Chapman stick, or at a push a Warr Guitar. Mmmm noodly. You could buy half a dozen of the crazier EHX pedals and make all sorts of experimental noises (you know, 00s era King Crimson with their double-trios.) -

Well - given that I can't get any profile page to load, I am guessing at your location *Checks own post to see if location appears* -

I think light-hearted pokes are fine; it's sort of to be expected with something extraordinary - but FB threads re usually full of idiots who start off with the ERB Bingo: 'Jaco only needed 4' and work swiftly up to 'you loser, giving musicians a bad name, get a job!' and if there are Americans involved soon devolves into political arguing and obscenities. @binky_bass - those planks are amazing, the woods!! I think I would probably melt my noggin trying the largest ones - but I def. want a noodle on a 7-string at some point, just to see what chordal nonsense I can conjure. -
Woah there: ALL of Rush is a golden period!!

US prices are ex. Tax.

A Wal Bass (lots of mids) is a good start. Check out the Wiki page on him which has loads of info on the effects and bits he uses: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Chancellor

I might just wait 3 months for the first 'Used but not quite what I'm after/I've changed my board and don't need this now,' threads

Only about £900 for me, and that includes one guitar and 2 basses, a small guitar amp, and 5 pedals. I occasionally show my Wife pics of Dingwalls and while she agrees the colours are impressive, does give me the eyebrow that suggests I would not be wise to even consider buying something that approaches half the value of my car.

Now that is nice. *curses* In my defence though I have never had the time or botheredness to get toneprints and send them to pedals (is it Wi-Fi, or USB or something?) - so have avoided most TC stuff.

Disappointing customer service at bass dealer
Daz39 replied to disgrace of bass's topic in General Discussion
Drew's retired but the GBBL lives on - the stock and business was transferred to a new owner, based in Congleton - and the first pics look a bit like a lounge setting too, so expect more of the same I imagine! -
Hi - there's a big thread about this in Off Topic with lots of advice and support. I often feel the same regards chucking all my music kit in the tip - it can be hard but persevere - even if it's just some mindless noodling to occupy your brain for half an hour.

Bought an OC-3 Pedal off Steve - arrived super quick and nicely padded (even though Boss pedals would survive thermonuclear war). Looking forward to giving it a whirl - top chap to deal with!

Let's list all the vintage/used bass shops!
Daz39 replied to ZilchWoolham's topic in General Discussion
There were 7 guitar shops in Newcastle when I was at Uni in the late 90s. Great times. -
I play heavy handed because for most of the times I have a bass in my hands the amp is not on. I have to dig in to hear myself properly, particularly if playing along to music.

I too hanker after a $$, but I do like the shiny pole pieces, and it'd have to be a 5 and in a nice shiny colour. Still - that is mighty fine wood.

Err not music - but many podcasts in rotation at the moment: mainly storytelling/humour but also Science ones. /nerd

Yep , +1 for the TC Polytune Clip. Great thing.

Card reader/ POS for merch - anyone done this?
Daz39 replied to sprocketflup's topic in General Discussion
We're moving to this in the small press I work for: take the reader to events and no more cash tin hassles, or even notebook recording of sales as you can key in sales codes and it tracks the product. Not sure who makes it. Hmm. There are various types - iZettl etc. and yes there are fees - but taking cash involves going to the bank to deposit it, or spending it and transferring the balance but making sure you definitely keep a track of who moved what and when. It is a good idea from a buyer's perspective if they don't need to carry loads of cash for all their merch purchases. Also you will likely sell more as it's far easier to swipe, tap or pin than check your remaining cash and agonise over which merch stand's item you want the most. -
No way - it's nice and diddy (sees last picture) Unless the demo person has enormous fingers. What's the Chunk do if there's already Drive?

The US price is ex. Tax though, so once you convert to GBP you have to add another 20% and then shipping if there is some...

The control knobs are DG-pedal ones too.
