Geddy's sound comes mainly from a very thick nail on his index finger, which grew back like that after he broke it as a kid. So he sort of picks while using fingers. But yes, also flapping flamenco style.

PJ Harvey was quite good; her usual kooky eclectic self. Good backing band too.

They are tight and do a good show too with the lights and effects. They're all great players too. Matt's just too talented for one person - it's not fair!

Awful news. Great drummer from Megadeth's best line up. Youthanasia was a top album that got me into the band. Go spin Addicted to Chaos, loud, and listen to the drum intro.

They have an SRF700 at the moment in secondhand. Gah, I love the Portamento. Serious gas. Happily it's not the 5 string or I'd have had trouble refraining...
