One piece will look better if clear or see through finish is applied.Why cut it up only to re-join again ? Multiple piece bodies ie on a regular guitar,are usually that way as a cost efficient way of making a body blank big enough,i would think.

I remember seeing a Tokai catalogue years ago,amazing,with amp copies as well as guitars and basses.

From the photos,the neck doesnt look twisted.I would imagine that the truss rod nut should be further out than that,so would tend to think that the truss rod doesnt have much adjustment left.Heres a link to one that was sold on here,with a pic of the truss rod nut. If you havent seen a fretless block and bound neck there is probably a reason for it.
