1. Exactly,a precision is a precision, who what why or when is mostly unimportant.IMO.
2. A £100 Westfield is capable,a Precision is a Precision if is MIM,MIJ,CIJ,MIA,or anywhere else they are/have been made.Im not sure about active ones,as that just seems wrong to me. As with everything, try before you buy,if you can,and buy the one that best suits you no matter what it says on the headstock.
3. You're only up the road pop down for a cuppa and try the Italia if you like.
4. I just watched the video. Resistance is futile Ow ! SWMBO said no. 1 cruel heartless bitch for sale.Or swap for.......................
5. OFFS im glad that im skint for once, especialy the Jazz version.
6. Having used a lot of Hartke stuff over the years im impressed,if my Marshall DBS ever dies i can genuinely say that Hartke would be my only choice for relacement.
7.
Interesting. Was it far off the original Ps response in that position? What I'm dithering about is whether a fretless would benefit from a neck bucker, which as we know produces a more hollow sound. Who knows it might even start sounding like an upright.
The mudbucker in the P position is like a P pickup on steroids, coke and viagra.............before i fitted it in the P position,i tried it in the bridge position and the sound was still huge but brighter,it only went in the P position because i already had a rout for the soapbar pickup that is in there now. I have had basses with mudbuckers in the neck position, not fretless though, and can imagine that it would sound upright'ish. I must add that the Italia is a very bright sounding bass played acoustically.
8. I have to agree with Doddy on this one.I have several basses and i am always suffering with Bass GAS,but always revert back to either my Jazz 1 or my precision 2.This forum has me GASsing for basses that i know i will never use but want all the same. Now if only 1 or 2 could switch to fretless at the flick of a switch.......................................
9. You might do better in the for sale section.
10. I put an Epi mudbucker in the P position on my Italia, very middy.
11. Gibson Grabber,Rick 400?,complete and utter ca*k.HH VS combo, worse than that. I LOVE SELMER AMPS,had loads, and sound City 120's too. Oh and an Ibanez Musician, numb sounding boat anchor, land fill P.O.S fretless.

15. I have my gigging basses built by Bass Doc,i tell him what i want,he knows what i like, never been disappointed.
16. At 1969 prices ? BTW,i just put new strings on the Jazz,it's just how i remember it as new..............like a bloody piano.
17. You are Billy Sheehan,i claim my £5.
18. Changing the pickups wont make the tone control any different, but changing the tone control will probably make the pickups sound better.I personally would change the tone control first, then think about the effects pedal.
19. Im Country and have used allsorts of basses,P,Jazz, EB-3,Hohner 2ba,etc.If you're going for a look,a 51 type P would suit as has already been mentioned.
20. Im thinking of fitting one,or maybe two of my spare lipstick pickups to this.
21. I dont know if this is any help, but i listen to songs that im learning until im bored to tears with it.Only then do i pick up a bass and learn it,then it comes a lot easier to me. Usually the bands that i've been in stick to the same basic set list for years, adding new songs when we found new better ones to replace the weaker songs in the set.Usually we would play 40 - 45 songs per gig,and about 15 - 30 at a festival depending on wether it was 1 or 2 spots. Boring to some,if not most i know, but the Country scene is like no other that i've been involved in.It worked for my last band to the extent that we headlined above such artists as Paul Overstreet,George Hamilton,Dale Watson and others.
22. Celluloid is highly flammable,i dont think that warm water would be enough to release poisonous gasses though,if it was there would be dead bass players all over the place at hot outdoor festivals.
23. you could try the glass sandwich in a bath of hot/warm water ?
24. No sh*t But the principle would be the same,2 flat surfaces and heat.
