    I would say,try as many luthier built basses as you can,you may try something that is nearly right which you can have altered for your own build.

    I always liked Sting and his playing.No use for the added whatever on any of my basses that a non BBOT is claimed to provide.My latest bass has the threaded rod type BBOT and as with every Fender,or Fender type bridge that i've had,it does the job perfectly well.

    I have nothing but praise foe EMG's,i use them in all my gigging basses.I usually use the passives but have used the actives in the past.

    Jim Deacon are the same basses,different brand name if that helps.Saying that,for some reason there are not as many choices available under the Jim Deacon brand.

    WD 40 aggressive ? you only need a small amount on a cloth.I've been using all the items in my original post for years with no ill effects,on poly and nitro finishes.
