1. Cool,and a nice old hybrid P bass too.
2. Re-badged Behringer ?.....................sorry.
3. Take a trip to your local car re-sprayers for paint ideas ?
4. New price was around £400,it has a spruce top, possibly veneered, back & sides are ash,and it has a "timber plus pre-amp and shadow pickup.
5. I have this with 4 pickups, which could be wired to 4 jacks. They are Danelectro type lipstick pickups.
6. Even if it's for trade ? Nice bass.
7.
Hi hillbilly, So it's eased since you started playing Bass; why do you think that is? Less choice, more flexibility of tone on a bass, running out of cash? Oggy
I was obsessed with 60's british blues,( Green,Clapton,Webb)which meant vintage gear and tone,Selmer Croc Skin Amps, old Les Pauls.Telecasters.I must have owned about 60 -70 6 strings,30 - 40 amps.Started on bass, they also had to be vintage,i.e 68/9 ? P-bass,79 P-bass,70's Tele bass,60's EB3 etc. I traded my old basses to fund a bass build and realised that i can get the sound i want out of gear that is'nt vintage.Even though i use a P-bass & a Jazz, neither of them are Fenders but are far superior in feel and sound to any that i have owned or played. And i can get the sound and volume i need out of my Marshall DBS rig.If i feel the need to play 6 strings, very rarely,i have an old Hohner L59,which nails that sound better than any Gibson Les Paul i've used.
8. I always have Bass GAS,but when i played guitar it was far more severe.
9. No,he resigned as he introduced the encore. He nearly had an unexpected stage dive.As for your other comment,of course,it happens all the time. The resignation is on youtube.
10.
+1 and i'd like this one too...
We knew that he was leaving, but it was'nt supposed to be until after Xmas.It was a bit of a shock, but at the same time a relief because there was tension in the band.We had allready lined up his replacement, but thought that we had plenty of time to rehearse until the changeover. It turns out that we had less than 3 weeks.Luckily/unluckily we only had to rehearse for a 1hr 15 mins set with it being for our debut at a festival. Our new singer lives in Yorkshire and we are based in Glasgow,so there was lots of over the internet rehearsal. She would send us the songs with her singing and playing guitar to a click track, kind of the reverse of playing to a backing track.................very strange.
11. Not last night, but Friday. To cut a long story short,we were dumped in the crap when our singer resigned on stage at the Americana festival, where we were headlining the night,so 3 weeks later with our new singer and 4 hours rehearsal we honoured our gig headlining at The Great North country festival, all a bit nervous, but we seemed to go down a storm, not least with the gig organiser and the compare. It was a bit rough (proberbly ony to us) but almost everyone in the venue, about 2-3 thousand, were up on their feet at the end of the night. So i would say that's a result,we just need to learn another 2 hours of material in the next 2 weeks.(3x1hr sets in the clubs in Scotland)
12. And it's new.
13. Looks like the same headstock shape, tuners and bridge.
14. It reminds me,a bit,of a K neck-thru bass i used to own.
15. It was like that. The body is pearloid on the back. The front and back screw together. It's an Italia Modulus 3,bought new.
16. It says Rockstar on the headstock, but it looks like a Shine to me.It's loud, punchy and has a wide tonal range. The hardware looks to be good quality too.
17. Gold sparkle is so tacky............................heres mine. It's currently being modified to fit Precision & Soap bar Pickups and a modified Precision scratch plate.
18. Wandering round while the wife, kids and mother went clothes shopping i spotted this.Price tag £49.SOLD,included new Ritter gig bag too.
19. BASS DOC,Fender expert and bass builder.Reccomended by me.
20. If you took 3 identical basses, one left with the body completely unfinished you would hear a difference. This happened to me with a Jazz that Bass Doc built for me.I gigged it in its unfinished state for a couple of weeks, then had the body finished. Unfinished it had a vintage Jazz vibe to it,finished,it seemed brighter/more modern sounding.
21. Both of my custom builds were by Howard (BASS DOC)of this very forum, one a five string Jazz, built about 10 years ago,the other a Precision, built this year. I think it's worth it,both of these basses are exactly to my spec as supplied to Howard. i.e pickups, scratchplate material, hardware finish, neck shape,in fact, everything. As for price, you would have to contact the man himself,as every build is different.
22.
Now if you used a BC Rich in a country & western band that would be extremely cool.
I would,i have allready used a Danelectro longhorn,Hohner 2BA,Epiphone Explorer,Gibson EB3,Westone Thunder 1A,Rickenbacker 4001 ?,so why not ?
23. Kalamazoo KB-1(Gibson) http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f321/Red...?sort=ascending
24. Of course they are fantastic,so are Jazz basses.Almost everybody that ever played bass has played one of Fenders products,or at least something that was inspired by it.
25. Im a Rotosoundaholic, same set on my Jazz for 9 years.
