1. I know that this is rescuing an old thread from the depths, but i was searching for info on one,as i have a V950.What do you guys call heavy ? mine is just over 8lb's in weight, plays beautifully, has loads of tones in it,and for what i paid for it,about £125 IIRC,can not be faulted.I checked out the Warwick Thumb BO's on youtube, and i can't hear a vast difference. Does anyone still have one of these, and use it ?
2. If you really want it,it will happen.
3. My EB3 had the headstock snapped off,and repaired long before i bought it,i had it about 3 years without a problem.I suppose it all depends on how well the repair was done, not just how well the repair was covered up.Knowing the history of the guitar helps.A correctly done repair should be stronger than before it was broken.
4. Baby wipes,without the E.B sticker.£1.
5. Slightly O.T,but still relevant,i feel.Where have all the horribly modded guitars and basses gone ? F.I,all the 70's strats with locking trems.humbuckers.Also if anyone is after a "vintage" re-finned bass,be VERY wary, some of the rebuilt horrors on this site are a good indication. 11. Sorry,58 seconds.
12. Great comparisons.Rosewood,fretted,rounds ?
13. No frills players seem to get derided a lot.I honestly have no opinion on the guy,i've never cared for U2,but he ca'nt be that bad a player.Any company would be stupid to endorse,or build a signature model for someone that was incompetent,no matter how famous they are.How long have they been going ?Still the original line up i take it ?
14.
Damn, I've been rumbled. Ok, I'll send the boys round with a fiver and a signed copy of our first 7 albums. The ones after that are not worth having
No,it's ok,i'll send you the fiver if you keep the U2 albums. (just worried it might be Bonio and Hedge)
15. Bugger,i have an L,totally mojoed, with mwaaah sound found in an uncles loft, been there since new in the 70's.Oh well, looks like poor old uncle Jaco's L will be going in the skip.
16.
He's actually been playing this bass and the Streamer on the latest 360 world tour along with a lot of promotion shows like The Brits so its certainly being used, along with his Streamer. As for his playing, having worked with one of U2's producers, I can tell you that Adam is a very good player. Maybe not the most technical but he is though of as one of the most solid tight bass players around. He certainly keeps the bottom end holding together.
You are Adam Clayton,i wish to claim my £5.
17. What next ? the Bill Wyman model ?
18. If it was a vintage original, such horribleness would cost a fortune.
19. I know a right handed drummer, that plays left handed because he started learning with the Phil Collins video.
20. That is proberbly how the 60's/70's ones came, bearing in mind that the red and yellow will have faded by now and the black often takes on a brownish colour with age.
21. Howard. He's sort of rugged, not pretty in the conventoinal sense, and i've not noticed if he has spots, but he is more than capable of making a scratch plate.
22. Obviously a crappy old Fender pre CBS,faked up to look like a quality, hand built by craftsmen Encore.
23. I typed in 30" squier bullet bass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiUcdGDc8XQ
24. CO wikipedia. The Fender Bullet Bass is an electric bass guitar model produced by Fender. It was introduced in 1982 as a part of a new line of guitars meant to replace the outgoing Mustang and Musicmaster - Fender's so called "student" guitars. The Bullet Bass had Mustang style pickups, but was available with a standard 34" neck in addition to the short scale 30" neck that the Mustang had. These instruments were only produced in the USA for a couple years until Fender decided to transfer Bullet production to Japan in 1984/85. They then fell under Fender's newly active Squier branding.
