SMB were also really good with updates, even though the tracking number was with PF -
Who's good for couriering basses at the moment?

Just an addendum. I just recently sold a bass that wasnt considered that valuable ( 200 quid ) so decided not to use Lenspeed. I tried Send My Bag, who in my case, sent Parcel Force. I gave info on the SMB booking form that it was a bass, and they accepted this as they have their own insurance. A hard case wasnt needed, just bomb proof packing. Handy since i dont have hard cases. PF turned up on time, and the bass was delivered on time ( 48 hour with tracking ) That cost 28 quid, including 4 quid extra insurance to take cover to 200 quid. I'd certainly use SMB again, for inexpensive music gear. Anything valuable i would use Lenspeed again -

That's the one. If you dont mind spending a bit extra ( 55 quid ) for sending a bass, then Lenspeed are brilliant. Used them 3 times now. You get the owner when you phone or message them. They dont require a hard case, and they dont require a cardboard box. Just a gig bag will do, and you're fully insured. You'll get texts from his driver on impending delivery. -
No - still around https://www.sims.guitars/pickups Its weird that Enfields are still advertised

Oh, they would love me then. Well maybe not as much as the Enfields, but hey.

Gumtree - Hi, is this still available?
fleabag replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in General Discussion
I've had stacks of those " is this still ...." blah blah on Facearsebook. I also think its a bot, and ignore any such messages if they dont come with an accompanying message from the interested party -
I bought a Dean off Alan, and now he's bought it back Sales dont get any easier ! A faultless deal. Thanks Alan

No delay or reverb, but a smidge of chorus on all songs apart from 4 tracks, which i use a bit of flanger, wah effect and 2 tracks of fretless with chorus 2 tracks where i use fretless has some chorus but only just a bit more than the tracks that only have smidge The smidge of chorus is just to get a slight thickening, rather than to hear the chorus effect itself. You dont know it's on till you turn it off

If it was a narrow string spacing 5 banger, say 16mm, might be ok, but i dont get on with wide fretboards for normal 5 string spacing.
-
Tricky i'd say, as i dont own a 5 string.
-
I effortlessy switch between my 4 string fretted and 4 string fretless.
-
I used to own a C4. What a beautifully made bass. One of those selling regrets

Gary Thain died in 1975 aged 27, so it was never going to be him on the track. Mind you, that Mark Clarke vid has already been seen in a recent thread here

I dont think i've wung it ( winged it ? ) in any band i've ever been in. Nonetheless, if the songs were going to be simply structured, then its not a problem.

I own the main dual tower PA ( subs n tops ) the rhyth git owns the mixer. We both provide monitors. His desk is old and worth very little compared to my Yam Stagepas pair, but it works just fine. Neither of us ask the other members for any kind of " hire " money. Of course if we had no PA then the whole band would have to split the cost of hiring a PA. If we only put vocals throught the PA, then it's the singers problem to buy or hire a vocal only setup, but in our crew, bass drum, bass git, rhyth git , keys and 4 vocals all go through, so its every bodies PA, except me and the mixer owner ask nothing for providing it. On the other hand, if either his mixer or my tower Yamahas go down and need repair, i would expect them all to help with repair costs. If i left the band, my towers go with me.

My fretless basses are also full of lobsters, crabs and sand. That's a mystery in itself.

Pastorious was beaten up by night club bouncers, and died.

It started as a simple request. Wtf ?

I'd wager about 400 squids from a pro luthier. Also luthiers have waiting times, so while not adding to the cost, it can affect who you choose. I think, without checking, that Warmoth necks off the shelf are in that same cost region, give or take, but they're US based, so there's extra costs

I cant for the life of me see what relevance that long unconnected post had , if any, to the OP's question.
