  1. Hired some HK audio PA for a gig many moons ago. Weighty yes, but an awesome sound
  2. The crossover is disabled as the tweeter is just a hissy pile of poo. I dont use the sub-octave, so its permanently switched out ... same with the compressor. I dont know what the letters mean any other ideas Stub ?
  3. Recording - just using open E. Bass EQ rolled off completely. Sounds like i;m really attacking the string but it was just a normal bedroom level pluck Voice 001.mp3
  4. Oh boy. Failure to sort the problem. Now with Beymas fitted, still getting this low volume buzzing ( like a delicate farting i suppose ) nothing like what i thought a speaker farting would sound like Its from both drivers, and it happens at any volume, input gain at low medium or high, bass eq rolled off completely, varying the main volume , varying eq , changing cables. I'm stumped right now
  5. Thats not what you asked. See your own post
  6. Its possible that he also sells concrete paving
  7. It'll only take me 8 years to save the dosh instead of 10 years
  8. But what if the seller doesn't want to be bought.?
  9. Swing and My New Career on Gentleman Take Polaroids
  10. Free postage should swing it.
  11. Ditto Hoping its been sorted
  12. The dust build up isnt huge, judging by what i cleaned off the heatsinks. I could leave it for a couple of years and clean it out manually
  13. Thanks B. I've been extending the ports today, from 10cm to 16.5 cm so i will cut some off
  14. Cheers - yes, i did use software, but i just wanted to be sure, as i'm not that good with these software progs I used ajvented, as WinISD seems too complicated https://www.ajdesigner.com/speaker/ajvented.php If you look to the right of parameters, you will see alignment SBB4, QB3 and SC4 I tried each one and they give different port lengths depending on what i want, but i dont know what those alignments mean in the great scheme of things
  15. @Bill Fitzmaurice Bill, what are the symptoms of a 4" diameter 4" long port that could be either too short or too long ? Currently, the new ports are here, but until the foam seal has arrivied, i'm not going to fit the drivers. When the cab is assembled, i'd like to know what to listen out for. E.G. if the port is too short, i will hear xxxx and if the port is too long, i will hear xxxx Edit I have some 4" ducting here if the ports need more length
  16. For more fun, check his other sales
  17. I couldn't be bothered to decypher https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Squ-Aff-MORE-Info-Soon-BrNC-Bass-in-Torino-Red-More-Info-Fen/184240970098?hash=item2ae59e1972%3Ag%3A3t0AAOSw6eleScyo&LH_ItemCondition=3000
  18. I'm just surprised that speaker manufacturers have not changed that config Still, like you said Bill, i've sourced some foam seal already. In the post , as they say
  19. The Beymas arrived yesterday, so Bluelines de-mounted, and now just waiting for the 4" MBR ports to arrive, as i need to widen the port holes, and its way easier without drivers mounted. One thing that puzzles me. There always seems to be foam rubber seal on the front of the driver mounting flange of every driver i've bought in the past, including these Beymas, suggesting they should be mounted from behind ( oooer ) the baffle, yet this would involve destroying the cab. You simply cannot get the drivers in otherwise. It would make more sense to have the foam seal on the back of the mounting flange, since they will be mounted on the front of the baffle
  20. 1) Yes. Just had major hip surgery ( replacement ) due to car accident 7) Yes, all the time 16) Yes, see No.1. I think that counts as a medical condition 17) Yes Everything else is a no
  21. Those 2 above with similar looking pickups are, i think, earlier models than mine and the OP's. I think they were Bill Lawrence pickups, and later they moved to Armstrongs, like mine and Darkhearts
  22. Another shark lover here. I owned a Cherrywood bodied model, with the single chrome pickup, and the shoddy Tortoiseshell p-guard that had a tendency to warp. Bluddy good sounding bass though. I often wondered what the active version sounded like, as mine was passive Also, from what i can see, the chrome single pup model had the pup much further up from the bridge, whereas the black single pup model was much closer to the bridge
