I saw Holdsworth in a tiny jazz club in Oxford many moons ago. The venue ( Old Fire Station ) downstairs houses about 30 people. Excellent gig though, if you like AH. Just a DB and drums + AH
I like his solo stuff. Velvet Darkness is fab and i own it, and for other bands, i have Gong's Gazeuse !! album and Holdsworth excels. Bassist Francis Moze is outstanding
300 watt combo is probably enough, but a little extra headroom is no bad thing, especially in our 7 piece band so the 500 models will be top of the list.
Definately heading in the Ashdown direction. People like both TE and Ashdown gear, but its swings and roundabouts, really. Except that Ashdown are alive, and kicking well and that is a big point
I guess i would be fine with either, but i like Ashdown's reputation for customer focus, which of course is pretty non existant for Trace
4x10 combos dont seem to sell, but the amp would. I did that very thing and sold the amp, but ended up pulling the vintage Celestion drivers, and dumping the empty behemoth cab at the local recycling centre
Keyboardists that are technically advanced are thin on the ground. Very much like looking for hen's lips.
Luckily we caught one in our massive shrimping net , and we chain him up after rehearsals and gigs.
In all my days and years playing, i've never managed to work with a keyboardist, ever, not even a shyte one
Yes, there is that with the volume thing. We generally only use a vocal PA, and with drummer, gitwrist, and keys + 3 singers, maybe i'd be better off with the - *cough * Trace Watts
