  1. Yup, listened to that and brilliantly played by Marta. One thing, she says no chorus on the bass, but if you listen, it definately does have that effect on it. Its impossible to get that sound without chorus
  2. Nice find RB. What an enormous tone. Love it
  3. Marta - very accomplished bassista. Loads of vids on YT
  4. Musicains are flakes. Thats a given. Some are nice flakes and some aren't. I've come to this conclusion after 30+ years in bands. I'm one of them flakes As for workloads outside of the band, we have that problem with 3 of us 7 and 1 one with young kids, so 4 out of the 7 can mess us up at times. Keys man can be out of the country ( in fact last week he was in Turkey ) Guitarman builds and installs analogue Ex SSL desks of any size and sometimes goes abroad, though not as much as keysman. Backing singer No.1 works in the blood dept of the NHS. Does weird shifts Backing singer No.2 has young kids and all that entails. But i wouldnt swap any of them for anyone else. They're a great crew, no egos, great sense of humour
  5. The documentary featuring Becker and Fagen on the making of Aja , was the most anal constructiuon of an album i've ever heard. But this is how they rolled at the time, getting jazzier and jazzier after Cant Buy A Thrill Someone in the past, IIRC, labelled their music " sickly sweet " and the extraordinary amount of time they spend auditioning guitarists who could come up with the magic lead guitar they were looking for that lasted 10 seconds, has got to be believed. I'm a fan, having said that, but The Royal Scam is tops for me, not Aja. I don't have any Beatles on disc, although i think they were clever writers. Dylan ? Overrated , apart from the wonderful Blood On The Tracks
  6. Very similay, at least the headstock is
  7. I can think of so many quips here, that i cant choose
  8. Lovely looking and sounding bass, and i speak from experience because i own an SB900. My electronics layout is different to yours, but maybe its because yours is the Batwing headstock and mine is a slightly later Open Book headstock. Like you i had Armstrong replicas built, but by Aaron, not Kent and it was both pickups in my case
  9. I forgot about Rapid, but have now got what i want from CPC. I had to order 5 of the 01.uf caps , because they were only 5p each Strangely, they had no 0.083uf caps, so ordered a 0.068uf, and that on its own was £1.07p ... weird price difference
  10. Cheat I'll try CPC Farnell - they have millions of bits of electronics, including a monstrous amount of caps
  11. Will do, but where the hell do you buy one cap ? ( or 2 in my case )
  12. Thanks chaps, yes maybe try an .083 as well as an 0.1
  13. A little extra reading seems to indicate that 473 just means yer bog standard 0.47uf ? So, i'm guessing, but i may try a 0.83uf or 0.10uf
  14. Could a lectronix guru ID this tone cap, pretty please? Basically, its not bleeding enough treble off, and i was thinking of replacing it. Which means, could i have a recommendation of which value cap to use ? The pot is an A500k TY !!
  15. Trying to think of where i've seen that odd headstock before - was it Cliff Bordwell basses ?
  16. Personal taste is a pointless debate
  17. CPC Farnell have an asbo lootley huge stock of pots. https://cpc.farnell.com/c/electronic-electrical-components/resistors/potentiometers-trimmers-accessories
  18. They failed some kind of test out there, due mainly to frequencies or something
  19. Well its nice to see Ashdown bucking the tiresome trend of building P and J basses copies
  20. Yes, but a wide strap negates any weight very nicely. I found my 4" strap makes light of this bass
