  1. What about a Guyatone ? A right stab in the dark I have no idea but they did make rather stonking JB copies
  2. They should epoxy that pile back together and it will sound just as good as when Fender built it
  3. I agree with the ' give it to him straight ' posts. You're not a social worker and he doesn't need the gentle approach, as if he were a child. He isnt gonna hurl himself off a cliff because he's not on a level playing field with everyone else. Just be straight, but not nasty. Thats it He may even go away and practice more.
  4. Almost exactly what dad said. Some tracks we cover are practically identical, some have bits changed to enhance things, some just embellished. The only thing we havent done, AFAICR, is that we havent dumbed any down
  5. There's a 21" version, 150kg stand if needed. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-150KG-Folding-Step-Stool-Multi-Purpose-Heavy-Duty-Home-Kitchen-Foldable/132089176191?_trkparms=aid%3D888008%26algo%3DDISC.CARDS%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131227121020%26meid%3D83a8aeb9b9004140bb32ec41b1b0c43e%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D2%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D122610169608%26itm%3D132089176191%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982
  6. I use folding steps ( 2 steps in my case ) and the 15" size. They'll take 130kg per step. Should easily cope with any cab situation. I've attached some sturdy packing foam on mine. Stops them sliding and gives the cabs grip, and helps isolates the vibes. They fold flat for transporting which is the cherry on the cake https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plastic-Large-Multi-Purpose-Folding-Home-Foldable-Easy-Storage-Step-Stool-NEW/122610169608?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D9e06dfa9a3da45c5b997c461a02b3f27%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D330752479864%26itm%3D122610169608%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  7. Great fun - nowt wrong with the bass either
  8. Time to get rid of this rubbish
  9. Agreed and i like the bass, but i dont play 5 's or contras. But if that was a 4 string regular 34" and £500 i'd be tempted
  10. Is that white bass a short scale ? Looks awfully stubby for a 34
  11. I'd like a to play with a drummer who turns up with his kit in a taxi Oh, yeah...ZZB
  12. You're welcome
  13. Ask him if its a ghost bass, too
  14. Another slapper. I managed 3 seconds
  15. No probs pst. Shame they never did more. The band split but did other things separately. Pal Dennis married a French woman and shuffled off to live in France about 25 or 30 years ago. Frank the drummer took up Jazz guitar, and Jerry the bassman is still around playing in some mediocre bands that he's far too good for
  16. Had to get it out of the laundry basket, hence the creases
  17. Those graphics look like they were done by a comic book artist, i must admit.
  18. She's not actually real, so probably not
  19. Yup, i guess its pretty rare. They weren't famous, and only made the one album
  20. You mean a search to buy it ? That may be tricky, but the link in my post is the whole album anyway
  21. My mate Jerry. This is his band Red, back in the 80's. Keyboardist at rehearsals was ex Tom Robinson member Mark Ambler, though he never made it on the album. He was bit of a prat So, i used to go to rehearsals for this album with Jerry, and gitwrist Dennis, because we shared a huge house with more musos at the time, in Oxford. I loved his playing so much i was influenced by him a lot to take up the bass, even though i was a drummer at the time. Jerry played fretted and fretless Rick 4001's at the time, so i assume the bass on this album was one of his Ricks The whole album is fabulous, though an aquired taste. Not for everyone, but loved it and still have it on vinyl, but would really like it transferred at some point
  22. I'm of the philosophy that they screwed you over, so you can take a wild stab at my answer. Unless you make a full time living at playing, then gigging under any circumstances doesnt compute.
  23. Yes. Looks ok. The knobs alone would be worth nearly the £10 that the winning bidder paid
  24. Somewhere to sit and ponder , though
  25. It used to be that your negs would stay, as long as it wasnt insulting e.g " the w@nker never sent the goods ' or similar stuff, and although some of it may have been accurate, they could have the whole thing removed because of the w@nker bit. But it seems now that feedback is a joke. Especially since the great idea by Nutbay big wigs many years back, deciding you cant leave a buyer any neg feedback. You now dont know which buyers are complete donkey butts, and there's a plenty of them out there Over 17 years on Ebay, i've bumped into so many richards that i opened a 2nd account, and if they pizzed me around, i used to wait till they had some stuff sale, and bid on it, then not bother paying so it messed them up. See how they liked a taste of their own meds.
