  1. Utterly brilliant. You lot can find me right now. In.My.Bog.
  2. Indeed, and another cliche " i regret selling it " speech
  3. I'm of the opinion that Peavey made some fine basses. Particularly ( in my case ) 2 Peavey basses i used to own ..the active Rudy Sarzo which was their flagship back in the day. I belive they only made them for 2 years, and from beautiful woods. And my C4 , another beautiful looking neck through bass. Both had fabulous tone
  4. 10 year Zombie thread revival champion.
  5. My pal does something just as odd. Plays a right handed Stingray, but left handed, so the knobs are all at the top, but he doesnt restring it, so the strings are back to front.
  6. Despite some having good vibes about Reverb, its always worth checking on the net for people who've been scammed and find out how.
  7. I had to look up ' dad rock ' because i wasnt sure what it was meant to be, but according to Flavorwire, Steely Dan's AJA is listed in there. Bit surprised https://www.flavorwire.com/447934/20-dad-rock-albums-you-should-learn-to-love
  8. I find that too, and i set the pup heights higher on the treble side and counter act the slight drop in volume. This means you can use the same plucking pressure on all strings
  9. I've seen this one, if that's the one you mean ? And yes, thats their anal attitude i speak of. When you know what you want, you keep on till you find it. Thats why they sound like they do. If you dont get them, and it sounds like you dont, then you dont get them and that's fine. I dont get rap music, but many do.
  10. Over produced ( or as i call it - slickly produced ) is what SD are about. Becker and Fagen just seemed to have the knack of finding the right musicians for every track. And of course, an incredible anal attitude in the recording studio. But thats how to produce music to sound like they do, which is intentional. What amazes me over the most of the SD albums, and i have 6 i think, is that they somewhow manage to make fab jazzyness sound so accessible.
  11. I wish i had kept my MC888 DS Bean bass. Funny looking thing, small body, small headstock but a beast of a tone. Mine was the DS ( darks stain ). Most i see these days, and there isnt many around, are mostly black
  12. Graeme picked up a pedal from me, and turned up right on time. Lovely fellow and good to put a face to a name, as always. 10/10
  13. SB 900 with custom Aaron Armstrong pickups
  14. It was mentioned in this thread back on 2016, by andyonbass so BC members have been using it for at least 3 years. That Carvin amp i bought was probably 3 years ago , too
  15. That reminds me, i must watch the next episode of Vikings
  16. Yeah, i was unsure of TW when i first discovered them, but they proved to be excellent and a cinch to use. I dont think any searching will reveal a better deal
  17. When buying from shops from abroad, try asking if they will use Transferwise. They're an extremely reasonable exchange rate company, that charges way less. EG. I bought a £500+ Carvin amp from Station Music in Germany and it cost me £2.50 instead of roughly £30 from either my bank or Paypal. to exchange to Euros Not everyone will use Transferwise, maybe they think its a scam, but my deal went perfectly. https://transferwise.com/
  18. After all that carbon and dye and whatnot, it just sounds like a million basses
  19. The only time i've had right hand pain is when playing a rather larger than i'm used to fretboard. The vinatge Aria Pro ll SB900 i have is a dream to play. But this is quite narrow for most players, having a 16.5mm string spacing
