  1. That probably works beautifully for acoustic guitar builders ( Martin, Fylde, Taylor etc ) but i;m with Al K on this. Once pickups and preamps and what not get involved, most ot that wood tone becomes much less prevalent in the overall tone. Yes there's an effect, but nowhere near those of an acoustic instrument
  2. Jolly good Hiscocks, and consider yourself demoted to Chief EDIT PS, thats Sir Inspector to you, sonny jim
  3. Also a veggie going on 35 years + and i got mine second hand ( and free ) by mistake ! I would never pay such a ridiculous £88 for a strap
  4. 5 currently, but one will be hoofed into the skip soon. Of the keepers, this is my fave ... it's a beastly 4" and unbelievably comfortable https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/208644801/wide-guitar-strap-bass-guitar-strap?ref=landingpage_similar_listing_top-4&frs=1
  5. Go ahead Andy. I'm going to be using it as a Croquet Bat on it's days off
  6. Not an issue really, just a bit of curiousity on my behalf, but why lock a wanted thread ? One can only PM in the wanted section anyway and even the OP cannot reply to their own post . Also, one can still PM despite the lock. ?
  7. I've reported him to the Spanish Inquisition. No one expects the Spanish Inquisition

  12. Surely the money they saved by ripping off bands could have repaired that damage
  13. I;m giving too much away here
  14. You'd think, but on wednesdays, it's Doris
  15. It is normally, but on Fridays and Saturdays i use my alteo egos. Fridays i'm chuffed and Saturday you'll be referring to me as Wendy
  16. That bass is about as vintage as a plastic £5 note
  17. That guy lives in space. " Fly me to the moon, and let me " etc
  18. Anyone think that looks like a Jazz neck rather than a P neck ... thats apart from the dodgy decal and stringing £6000. He should pretend to be a Nigerian Prince and start emailing people about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ locked up in a vault. He'd probably have more luck than selling that ex Grant P bass / Jazz bass
  19. If Carling built basses ............
  20. Yeah i messed up that bit
  21. They bounce really well. I dropped mine from 7 storeys up, and it didnt miss a single beat.
  22. I'm very partial to the bass on Paperback Writer.
  23. I think that most folk, YMMV though, would consider mojo as vintage / roadworn etc. You can buy mojo off the shelf these days, and dont have to own and gig a bass for decades.
  24. You've done a great job rescuing this. Grecos are great basses, including the JB's
