  1. Yup, it's pretty choppy, ain't it
  2. If you think that's overboard Phil, spare a lumbar though for a Peavey BVX 1x15 cab i used to have. Something in the region of 22mm and big size, even for a 1x15 I couldnt even give it away. It's in the public recycling depot now
  3. I wonder if the protection circuit is slightly dicky. It's obviously an amp that gets played by all and sundry and may have suffered abuse in it's time .. perhaps
  4. I know looks are subjective, but i dont have a problem with those. They sound like they could be a bargain after all
  5. Yeah i had me doubts, due to only 2 of you sound checking. Pretty bizarre - vibration maybe , tricking the amp into protect mode, assuming it has one ?
  6. Does the venue have a volume cutout ? I've gigged in venues where the band volume kept triggering a DB meter and that was linked to killing the PA Mind you, i guess thats not it, when it was just you and a drummer, so i dunno
  7. They're cheap as chips. New, less than £200 - perhaps the discrepancy in his pricing is based on it being " early " whatever that means. Not sure why he listed at £88 on Nastybay, though
  8. The description is somewhat lacking. Perhaps it's perfect and there's nothing left to say I see all the photos too
  9. Yes matey, thats taken care of by a chap who knows about these things
  10. I'm not messing with them, i need to send the switch to somebody for wiring. There's 2 of them in fact, and they look identical and i didnt want to post them off if they were either duff altogether, or the wrong type of switch. Not everyone knows what the're doing But hey, thanks for the condescending reply. It was helpful
  11. I have a couple of 3 position mini switches, 6 poles undereneath. Unlike an ON-ON switch i have which actually states the words ON-ON somewhere on the switch, the two 3 way switches have no such stamping on them ( why FFS ? ) So.. i need an ON-ON-ON switch, but i need to test them to see if they might be ON-OFF-ON which would be no good to me. The switch is needed to click between Parallel Bucker / Series Bucker / Single Coil ( just the one pickup, by the way ) Got a multi Meter but need some leccie guru to tell me how to test - what range - etc, which poles , blah blah Wade in folks. There's a dougnut in it for anyone that can help. There's only one bite out of it too, so nearly new Ta
  12. Well, like everthing else, including JB himself, just personal taste. It wasn't about the music, but about tone.
  13. Hook on the board
  14. It's a Greg Bennet apparently
  15. I'm a JB tone lover This floats my kayak
  16. Selling this as a Samick, but this is not their logo, and £88 on Ebay but £200 on Reverb Best of luck to him though https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Early-Samick-Jazz-Bass-guitar/332999454252?hash=item4d88506e2c%3Ag%3A0yQAAOSwSe5cMetC&LH_ItemCondition=3000 https://reverb.com/item/18048383-samick-jazz-1980s-translucent-green-blue
  17. Brilliant post
  18. Is that one huge bass or is that woman kinda small ?
  19. Not sure what the Alembic mention is about, but the price seems adventurous. I sort of remember Alligator amps back in the day, and those were good IIRC
  20. You guys tune your basses ?
  21. I like this - not for everyone, obv. https://reverb.com/item/16405331-1983-rare-reeve-guitars-alligator-boutique-custom-vintage-uk-bass-birdseye-maple-oak-2k-new-wal
