  1. My Overwater already has on-board pre, so another one is probably out of the question. And the idea of a footswitchable dual pre means i dont have to keep walking back to the amp
  2. Wow - that's an odd looking amp. Looks like a big foot pedal - i'll check this out too, though if, as you say, they're expensive, maybe not. Interesting though
  3. Thanks owen - now on the check list with whatever the Warwick is
  4. Well i remember those old Sony HiFi units of old. No problem with the look of 'em
  5. PS i realise that there are pedals ( Providence , Bassbone , etc ) but i want to cut down on gear
  6. Having failed to find anything useful using " dual preamp " in the search function, got to ask here. I'd like a dual preamp head, ( not dual power amp ) and footswitchable , so i can set two different EQ sounds for one bass. I've already owned a Carvin BX - great amp - but over the top. Found i didn't need two internal power amps. I know there's a Markbass LMK, but cannot find one 2nd hand. Genz Shuttle Max 9 ( 9.2 ? ) i believe had dual preamps , and maybe the Mesa Titan v12, but thats too much, especially the price. Is there any other dual preamp heads that i could be looking for ?
  7. Adamovic ? http://adamovic.nl/
  8. Because the choice to go or stay is down to the punter. You surely cannot sit through a loud gig with your ears fizzing and then complain
  9. Just have to say that i've been dealing with Wunjo recently, it was Tom to be precise , the bass dept. manager, who was a joy to speak to, and got a fabulous deal from him. The bass i bought didn't come with any case, and Tom said he'd throw one in with the deal if he could find one to fit ( odd shape bass and very long ) Meanwhile, Tom shipped the bass in a fab quality Roksan gigbag, ( plus cardboard boxes, 2 of ) free of charge, and a few days later, a brand new hard case arrived of the right size. Wunjo / Tom / and James went beyond the call of duty in their customer service, and TBH, was a shock to see a business be so helpful. 10 / 10 for Wunjo
  10. Same here - it's not that floppy is unplayable, but more that high or higher tension is the preference, so why settle for something you don't want, when the what you do want is available
  11. They weren't new strings Maude, so i doubt i'll need to play them for a while. I guess the running in period has already been sorted
  12. It's a mystery and had to play this in one band i was in. Pretty simple bass line, but hated playing it.
  13. Well it ain't no 80's Aria Pro ll bridge, but maybe just some generic thing
  14. And i bought them - lovely They were straight in the post next day - good lad !
  15. You sent signed for ? He left a card saying needed signature. If he'd bothered ringing the doorbell he would have got it
  16. Missed the bluddy postman this morning. He certainly didnt ring my doorbell. Bustard Will collect from sorting office tomorrow and reciprocate the FB Pawel Ta
  17. Ta 59 Long as the Chromes are not too floppy, i can live with them
  18. Did anyone's dad/mum hate the music you listened to ? Mine did. " Turn that shyt off " I shuffle upstairs , as i hear Burt Bacharach lurch out of the stereogram , i go upstairs to sulk and hear him mutter " now that's music " I dont like Sheerans rubbish, though he comes across as a rather lovely young chap, and if the kids like him, wtf. Kids berate their parents music and we berate theirs ( too a degree, not everyone , YMMV , etc etc ) Reminds me of this...
  19. So, try chips ?
  20. yeehar !
  21. Havent got a photo have you, BOTB ?
  22. Aria Pro ll SB bridges used to be around 16.5 mm back in the 80's. There were probably a lot more than those though.
  23. I've often wondered why they were called " Highway " and i still don't know
  24. He certainly has put enough photos up, which makes a change. Wouldn't get me to part with my sheckles though. What a mess
  25. Thanks guys. Unfortunately, after 3 days with no posts, i bought some Chromes from PawelG so i hope they're what i'm looking for, which was high tension flats that were not too dull and thumpy. I already have set of Roto 77 one of my basses and they were ace but thought i'd like to try another make. Chromes are well liked on BC We'll see how they go
