  1. I've not seen the modern sleeve
  2. Me too. Had the vinyl ( what a cover that is - and then you look inside the cover - officer ) Then bought the round tin CD. It had a great pull out , all concertina'd , and about 6 beer mats that were a copy of the face of the tin. Marvellous. Still got it Love is like an 'ole in the wall A line-up in the warehouse no trouble at all
  3. Got a jazz shape body, and its been through some mods here and there, and not sure where to go with it now, as its been resigned to the cupboard I had a think and decided maybe the way to go would be to fit a single MM ( Warman UK ) that i have lying around. The MM pickup has already been in a bass that i moved on so i know how good the pickup is already, but the body is going to take some work. Pup routs need filling, then the body needs sanding flat and veneering. Its the preamp where the stumbling block occurs. I guess my options are either a Stinger 2 band, or East MMSR 2 band. There's a big price difference of course. I've seen a photo of the Stinger guts, and it clearly showed that Chinese copy of Elnea capacitors were used ( Kelnea ) so the rest of the pre maybe has cheap compenents too whereas the East probably has much better quality components, so anyone recommend either as an option ? Are there other 2 band pre's that come close ?
  4. I saw all those puns but refused to take the bait
  5. That headstock - i like the way its been shaped so that strings rub on the face. Nice touch
  6. Fretless / fretted ?
  7. A great track indeed - even Grace Jones did a cover version
  8. I suppose so Hey...is the sin bin at Silverstone with some racing hogs to play on ? That would be some punishment
  9. I drooled over the configurator - had to have a cup of tea after that.
  10. I'd like to know where my original 84 Overwater Standard single pup is - huge mistake. This, but single pup and passive - very hard to even find a photo of one
  11. You can get your own relic'ed bass by gigging a new one, instead of paying a factory to make it look like you're a well gigged muso
  12. Why ? 1 and only post 4 years ago and he never came back
  13. Yup, well spotted CJ
  14. Could be an older model ESP bass. They used to use big white blocky letters on their headstocks, but they dont seem to these days.
  15. Its actually a soldering station but it should do the job
  16. Thats the one Trevor.. with a heated loop rather than just a hot blade - well found
  17. Junk food - keeping the poor alive 👀
  18. That sounds like a great compromise, ( and based on the what onehandloose said ) now that i've done it all back to front. yes, cut through the whole foam in the shape i want, then slice the bit i've cut out in half, longways. I can then ' plug ' the hole with half of the shape i just cut. Nice work daddy o. It means i dont need a specialist cutter, just a plain old sharp knife
  19. Great idea - cheers Unfortunately, the foam has been ordered already, and i dont have that luxury now. Should have waited i suppose and now i;m doing it the hard way. So a hot knife - do any of them have a kind of wire loop on them so that can cut down to a certain depth and then scoop along to cut the bottom ?
  20. I'm going to refit my pedal board with High Density foam, rather than what it came with. But i want my 3 pedals to sit IN the foam and not ON the foam, so i need to shape it. I've looked at hot knives but they seem to be more for cutting easy shapes for cushions or whatnot, but i need some kind of hot knife that can cut the foam down to half its depth and scoop out the shape of the pedal. I will not be cutting all the way through the foam, so i;m struggling to know what kind of tool this is called or if they exist. Anyone know what i'm talking about ?
  21. Interesting Ebay spam
  22. That link is to a Stingray from GAK now, so i guess the WAL sold or was withdrawn
  23. Although finished, it still says £250
