  1. The best wheels for gravel are those with balloon tyres fitted. You can pump them up. They laugh at gravel
  2. Keeping an eye on this - well done so far ! I thought building my 1x15 cab was hard, but a bass is something i wouldn't even comtemplate
  3. You can get ports from screwfix. 100mm and then cut to length according to the cab design requirements Its called Manrose Pipe https://www.screwfix.com/p/manrose-round-pipe-white-100mm/15872 I sealed mine round the circumference with Silicone The grill i already had from an old Peavey 1x15 Black Widow cab The Tuff Cab paint can be bought from Blue Aran
  4. I'd have thought they could have a hung a toilet roll holder from the top just so you had somewhere to rest the plucking hand. And remember to lay it down flat when you're finished , or you'll get loads of women complaining about it being left stood up
  5. Utter tosh If tone was in the fingers alone, basses and amps wouldn't need EQ controls.
  6. I'm surprised at how tiny those pickups are. The E and G strings only just run over the pups
  7. It sounds like they think they can poke at you because you're the least experienced, and they know they picked you because they knew you. Trouble is, they're being hypocrites. Either they want you in the band or they don't. If one is complaining he can't hear the rumble of bass on stage, but refuses to have your bass sent to his in-ears, tell him to STF up. If he ain't part of the solution, then he's part of the problem. Same goes for the others. And who the hell carries your rig in .... them ? No, it's you , so the size doesn't matter. ( matron ) You need to start fighting back or get the hell out of dodge
  8. This one's cheaper https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hartke-Kilo-Bass-Amplifier-and-two-4-x-10-cabs-Economical-touring-rig-reduced/192532291552?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49129%26meid%3Dd63ef0242d4d4ed9bfe214224141ec4b%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D202306966525%26itm%3D192532291552&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  9. My Dad and Stepmum live in Basildon, as do my Stepsister and one of my Stepbrothers. Its getting smaller, but i still wouldn't want to paint it either
  10. From some angles, that body finish looks like it was done with a wallpaper brush. Could be a trick of the light. I wouldn't exactly call this a customised Stingray either.
  11. Try the Seymour Duncan forums or post it here maybe ?? https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/97-guitars/

    NBD - Vox?

Be interesting to see this stripped back, refurbed, polished etc. Go on ... do it
  13. Someone mentioned Westcliff - ooh the memories. I lived there when i was around 18, and used to stomp around Southend pubs. Specifically two pubs called the Top Alex and Bottom Alex Its not as pervy as it sounds
  14. Yeah MOS has the most out of touch prices on pretty much all of his gear, let alone controversial kindling like the abortion in the link. How he stays in business is a mystery, unless its a sideline hobby run from home, otherwise he'd of gone under by now
  15. No short scales for me, though many moons ago, i owned a Yamaha Motion B MB2 ( the best IMO of the Motion basses ) which i think was 32 " Was a fab bass too I've also owned a couple 35" scale basses, namely a Yamaha TRB ll and a De Armond Pilot Deluxe and when using the same tension strings as those on a 34", the longer scale 35's tend to give a bit more ' piano ' tone, if yoo knaw wot i min
  16. So the heads with vent plates at each end, that mount the heads in the combos, i gather will be too long for a 19" rack, but if you take the mount / vent plates out of the equation, the combo head will be too small to fit a 19" rack case ? Like this
  17. IMO buy Markbass for what they are. The colour is branding, or just buy something else.
