  1. If you can do a good job, then great - save yourself a wedge of moolah. be nice to keep it original
  2. Very possible PT
  3. Yeah they look mad, but then when you see someone with talent playing one, like Nick Beggs ...used to be in a brit brit band called Kajagoogoo ( dont ask ) If chat bores you, he kicks in about 1 minute 20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmZxoxUNv4g Then there's band he was in after the teeny band - Ellis Beggs and Howard. The weird lead melody is Beggs on the Chapman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgrE6Q860CE This is Beggs laying down Toneprints using the melody from the track above
  4. Pink streaks in P . Pine ? I dont remember that. We used to train with P. Pine at Tae Kwondo, because when you punch / kick it (properly) it makes a clean split with no splinters, but i never saw pink streaks, but happy to be wrong, if i am. The wood in the OP does look like Pine , but then it looks like a lot of similar light coloured woods, looking at the grain/colour
  5. Not sure why there's any problem with so called stretching going from a 34 scale to a 35 scale The reach is only an extra 1/2" , as the extra 1" scale length is spread both ways. So really, if you have to stretch reach an extra 1/2" then a 34 scale is probably already to long to start with. Thats assuming of course that the 35 hangs in same position. Some basses will sit further to the left, so then yes, there maybe some extra stretch
  6. Thanks Charic Yeah what dad said. Bit nasty really, that sidebar with nothing in it
  7. So he was a bit freaky, like Phil
  8. Sounds like a good idea when you say it fast Unfortunately, as stated, the frets !! A 35" scale bass has the 12th fret at exactly the midway point between that fret and the nut - 17.5" A 34" scale bass has the 12th fret at exactly the midway point between that fret and the nut - 17" And then all the other frets... well you got the idea already
  9. Here's what i'm seeing One thread i get full width , which is what i like Other thread is cut off with " similar content " box on the right, and taking up space, and that space then follows on with nothing but blank to the bottom Kind of a waste, but why 2 different display widths ? I'd like to see all threads like screenshot 1 - full width ta !!!
  10. Having started guitar while still at school, i thought i'd be a guitard god, but lack of talent got in the way, so i never played the instrument in a band, just at home Having discovered drums though, at the age of 21/22, i realised i'd been playing the wrong instrument. Went on to join several bands as the drummist for 25 years Then i discovered bass and realised i'd been playing the wrong instrument. I have the guitar / amp at home but not a drumkit. Occasionally i amble down to the local jam bar and whack the tubbs.
  11. Just listened to a YT demo and it sounds pretty fabulous. Good score Wal bloke
  12. Aye. The rap crews took it up pretty quickly way back
  13. Scoop, this is a vintage quality bass. Do it a favour, take it to a proper geezer bloke luthier to sort the problems, and suck up the cost. You'll be glad you did in the end
  14. Turning it off and on and off and on and off and on again ?
  15. I have one - Peavey says the speakon outs are paralleled, whatever that means ? 4 ohms minimum so i'm guessing it will take no lower than two 8 ohm cabs ( one in each speakon ) or one 4 ohm cab in one of the speakons. I guess " paralleled " means they are not seperate mono amps, otherwise i could run my 2 Beyma 2x10 cabs which are 400 watt and 4 ohms each. Instead, i run my single 8 ohm 600 watt self build Fane 1x15 cab Peavey call the Kosmos button "Built-in KOSMOS® bass enhancement and psychoacoustic sub controls " ... but i can tell you its identical to an octvaer, and a brilliant one at that. Just be careful when you engage it I love it - the options for EQ ing are outstanding. And it weighs less than my slippers. I managed to score an ex demo model for an excellent price, but no peavey bag. I sourced a rather spiffing sturdy padded laptop bag off NastyBay for £14 If your taste for amps are similar to mine, you'll love it
  16. Booo hiss
  17. If this site has a problem with slow loading, then it would be slow for everyone. So, it still seems like its your end
  18. I never had one. Are they some kind of big deal ?
  19. Why has he called it a CORT KAY ? Did Cort own the Kay Brand way back ..?
  20. Not ex female , i agree. Gay for sure, despite the family / marriage. But a lovely geezer and bass player. Sad day when he went
  21. Fraser ? Didn't bother the other band guys that he was an ex female
