  1. Oh dear rabbie Maybe swap your URB for a EUB ?
  2. Well, a quick read of the possible builds means either a 15/6 ( i dont really want an extra speaker ) or a 15 sub, which is not what i'm after
  3. Cheers for that link - having a read right now Believe me, someone would have to build it for me for the reasons stated, and yes, coin would have to be exchanged for services rendered I'm looking at where i can buy Baltic Birch locally at the mo. Havent founds much round these here parts
  4. PS could i get away with 12mm ply and would i get the cab out of one 8x4ft sheet
  5. Rather then get rid of a huge Peavey BVX cab i have with a 15" 600 watt Fane Sovereign LF driver, and the fact that no one wants to buy this, I figured i may as well keep the driver but stuff it in a more reasonable box. The current Peavey cab which originally housed a Black Widow, is pretty big I did some measurments, turns out to be about 7.22 Cubic feet. Allowing for the fact that i measured outside edges, perhaps a bit less, say 7.0 cubic feet and this equates to about 198 litres. Now on the Fane website, they have recommendations for volume , both Cubic ft and Litres. Even the biggest at 4.41 Cubic ft / 125 litres is way smaller than the Peavey I'm not sure about their smallest recommendation of 1.76 cubic ft / 50 litres ??? They also dont mention porting / port sizes. What minimum size ported cab could i reasonably get away with in size, without killing the bottom end ? Problem 2 is the fact that i live in a flat, with nowhere to work ( no shed ) and no power tools to speak of. This means i will have to pay someone to build it From the FANE site ...
  6. The difference in perceived output by fitting an 8 ohm driver is unlikely to be even noticed. But that combo discreet is selling sounds like a bargain, and if its all original, you get a factory speaker for your cab, or keep his and use the other cab for bits of cab spares, as pete says
  7. Nothing to see here. Move along please

  11. IIRC, didnt Hendrix change a song when he played on some live show ( maybe the Lulu show ? ) I think he was booked to play Hey Joe, and suddenly he stopped the band and started playing Sunshine Of Your Love, and beeb geezers behind the scenes cut the power after a minute or two
  12. aaaah. pink torpedo up I didnt send the whole kit back, as the seller told me, after i started a dispute, that if i bought a remote on its own from somewhere ( they didnt sell them on their own ) they would refund me. I did, and they did. Got a remote from another seller ( hasnt arrived yet ) and as promised, seller refunded the cost of the new remote plus another £5. Meanwhile, the light strip works without the remote, but you dont get all the fancy switching / flashing etc. So, as the last time the light were left on green before the remote fell apart, thats the colour i was stuck with. No probs - its for my TE combo. Now then, here's where the never ending shoit rears its ugly head. Gettiing the strip to go round a right angle, of whivch there are four of course on the front of the cab, was a right buzzard. Such a hassle in fact that, i must have done some damage, because half the lights wouldnt work, and i had checked them 2 mins before i fitted them So now i have a remote in the post with no lights. I dont know whether to bother with another strip, as i'm still going to face the problem of getting the light strip to bend round a 90 degree angle. They dont seem to like it

  16. Weird that i never got to see the Stranglers live. My intoduction to Rattus was around 1978 driving over to France with a mate who had a French grandmother and we got to stay at one of her holiday homes. We took the ladies with us , and drove to Southern France in a mini estate. Argggggh. We only had 2 albums ( well cassettes TBH ) to listen to all the way there. One was Reed's Rock and Roll Animal and the other was Rattus. Fab On another note, i DID get to see Killing Joke at a rally in Trafalgar Square in 1980
