2. But bus and taxi no problem ?
3. I've come unstuck ( matron ? ) when trying to cross gravel car parks to pubs with hard wheel trolleys The best type for any ground are balloon type wheels, as they just float across rather than try and bury themselves. Bastards

5. Terry is an utter gent and scholar Mick the Greek told me about bertbass Terry when i was asking how to rout templates. I contacted Terry and without a hint of hesitation, gave me a price that made blush. I sent Terry 1 piece of perspex for 2 routs ( 1 pickup and 1 rear cavity ) I expected to get back 2 pieces, one with a pup rout and one with rear cavity rout. What i ended up with is all templates copied in MDF, ( including the rear cavity ledge template for the cover, which i didnt ask for and Terry made out of the goodness of his heart ) and to add, i even have the rear cavity made of white, to match my bass. This again was not ordered, but simply included out of goodness of the heart And there's more. The parcel i sent weighed nothing, but the parcel that came back weighed 3 times the original, and Terry didnt tell me. I was humbled to the point of sending Terry more money without asking him, because i'm 100% sure he would have refused. Check the photo and remember, all i sent Terry was 1 piece of perspex, and asked for 2 routs to be made. This is what i got back
6. So, dad, what type of truck / trolley is good for hauling combos and cabs on a bus / train / taxi ??
7. I bought one of these many moons ago. I prefer this type rather than those tall sack trucks because it takes up very little space when fold down. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Folding-Platform-Trolley-Truck-Sack-Cart-Barrow-/282523584598?hash=item41c7b7c856:g:FVcAAOSw7U5Y~fKa
8. Thanks ikay - jack socket it is
9. My wiring knowledge is not great with complicated preamps like this , so can anyone point to where the bridge earth solders too ? Usually its the jack socket, so would this be the same ? Simply solder to the earth part of the 9 lug stereo socket ? There is also a common ground on the balance pot where the pickups solder to, so is this a better place fro bridge earth ? Cheers !!
10. I might be the only still reading this More work completed - specifically the routs have been filled, and sanded First photo is the back of the body still sporting the original colour which has faded to a yellow-ish white from pure white So trying to match the colour for the bridge, knobs and tuning pegs was a nightmare, because the only other option was a custom sprayer who could use some software magic to match it. Too expensive i would have thought Eventually i found some rattle can stuff from RustOleum called Heirloom White which was as close as i could get. Not a bad match in the end if you look at the tuning pegs, which were sprayed with Heirloom. The back of the neck and body are the original factory faded colour The next photo is the front, with routs filled, sanded and undercoat sprayed, which is a stark looking white, but this will eventually be sprayed with the Heirloom White, after i get the template back from friendly geezer bertbass and the new routs for the Aguilar soapbars and new rear cavity are sorted
11. As an ex drayman for the now defunct Morrells Brewery, Firkins were amongst the various barrels i delivered and hurled down the cellar ramps Hogsheads are 54 gallon beer barrels. ( ale ) These are not so common Barrel is 36 gallons ( ale ) Kil is 22 gallons ( usually lager ) Firkin 9 Gallons ( ale ) Pin ( 4.5 gallons ( ale )
12. I have a Korg Pitch Black in Effects For Sale if you fancy a search
13. I've got a chap who knows how to rout templates, on the job, and accurately too Jabb, you may remember me PM ing you about filling pup routs - well i managed, and shockingly , made a good job of it. I went to my local wood yard and bagged up some of their sanding dust. They were real helpful, showed me where they stored it, and left me alone to help meself I made a semi runny paste of dust and some quality wood glue - cant remember the name but its yellow-ish. I shaped some wood in a rough shape making sure i could get the semi runny paste below, down the sides and over the top. I built it up in stages letting the mixture dry for at least 36 hours each time. Both pup routs are now filled and sanded back, also the front mounted cavity ( jazz stylee ) is also filled /sanded I left about 4 or 5 mm at the very surface so i could finish with a light real wood filler for ultra smooth finish Blew over the body with primer and to my surprise. there was only a little extra filling needed. It was easier to see the bits i'd missed after the primer was on. I'll get the body sprayed after the new routing's done. After that, fit Aguilar soapbars and Noll pre. Done !
14. I wasn't there, but i did go one better and had jam with them and friend Jerry, who was the 2nd guitarist i think. The first guitarist was Mark Revell, another friend of mine but left many years ago. Just a thought .. look for VENICE BEACH track by The Egg on yootoob. Guitar played by my pal Jerry Never mind - here it is Track off their first album with original guitarist Mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm3G9QDobFQ
15. Bloody hell - our old band rhyth gitwrist got in touch earlier to say he'd tracked down a singer with NO baggage - result for me. Our drummer lives in Banbury too ! Sadly, i'm not an ACDC fan, but thanks for getting in touch Paul - appreciated
16. Over my head Its the jargon that got me I've officially lost my nerve and taking it to a local luthier
17. I still live and learn The Oxford Egg were utterly brillaint, by the way
18.
Cool! Not that spooky though, considering your Egg is still fresh, whilst mine is excruciatingly rotten (for the uninitiated, Fleabag's Egg is from Oxford and still active, whilst mine had one or some member(s) from the Canterbury area and became defunct in the early 70s).
We live and learn ! I didnt know there was a 2nd Egg from the Kent area. Yup, my Egg was Oxford based
19. Good tip terry - cheers I've also read that its worth taking out the main bulk of the routs with forstner bits first. This makes sense to me, and lo and behold i have a set of forstnet bits Does that seem sensible ?
