More research revealed its possibly the Acoustic 370 or similar Perhaps the cab is Acoustic too ...2x15 ? http://www.terapeak.com/worth/vintage-acoustic-370-bass-amplifier-head-sold-as-is/302026722072/
 2.
Didnt she marry the drummer?
Yup, Chris Frantz. Tina and Chris also went on to form The Tom Tom Club
 3.
The pickups were definitely added - mustangs always had the small rounded split pickup until the prawn-shop one came out with the big chrome telebass humbucker a few years ago.
Thanks for the confirm - just as i thought
 4.
The amp is an Acoustic Corp. one, isn't it?
No idea Bartleby
 5. That sounds right .. I read somewhere though, that hers is modified. I couldnt find a mustang with a jazz -ish pup at the neck + square P pup at the bridge. Most of the early Mustangs seem to have tiny rounded end P pups and just the one pup
 6. This is the Heads on The Old Grey Whistel Test ..as if you didnt know But what a tone. Tina tone ... whats the bass and the rig ? Funny looking Precisiony thing ? Funny looking cab too.....and too fuzzy to see amp name
 7. I think thats right about the Delano - you can even see the pevious pickup screw hole and they use Delanos in other basses Some peanut head has stuck a silly Mighty Mite in place of the original I quite like some of the builds though ..the Corto, Fusion and Sparrow http://www.birdsongg...irdsong-guitars
 8. Remove strings and frets and i could finally iron my shirts
 9.
...and here's my contribution to the thread. This one drives me MENKLE.
Please use words that exist in the Ox dick
 10.
wouldn't have said that, they're very good combos it's just the weight of them, I started with a combo but now have 2 TE heads, one is a series six and the other a GP12 SMX which I prefer, so I'd look out for one of those, God knows what it will weigh though Edit, apparently they're 104 pounds, hope your back is in good nick https://www.talkbass...al-only.953381/
Yup, when i said weight wasn't an issue, i didnt think the 410 would be over 100lbs I could think about Ashdowns as an alternative .... would still want a 4x10 though
 11.
I had a GP1210 series 6 combo in the 80's and 90's, so yes the 12 was out there.
Good stuff !
 12. I dont really want separates. I already have 2 Markbass Cabs and a Carvin head, but i like to keep them packed away for gigs / rehearsals. So the combo would be for impromptu stuff, which would save me lugging separates around. I know everyone and their granny has probably made better combos. but i still particularly fancy a TE, its just that i dont know what was available ( GP7 GP11 GP12 etc )
 13. I've just sold my Ampeg, so now i'm pondering on a TE 4x10 combo, despite the horrendous weight I've stumbled upon pix of an early model that has plain wood cabinet, no vinyl or carpet. I think i will avoid that one So what does that leave ... GP11 and GP12 4 x10 combos ? Were there even combos in both GP 11 and GP 12 guises ? Was there a GP 7 4x10 combo ? I'm fairly ignorant about the originals, and i dont like the style or the price of the Peavey era gear, so it has to be the older stuff really Assuming there's a 4x10 in GP7, 11, 12 styles, which would be the better to go for ?
 14.
We still speak lots the original language and pronunciations. Geordie is not just an accent its a ancient language.
We still speak much of the original language and pronunciations. Geordie is not just an accent , < comma its an ancient language.
 15.
I'm talking about discontinued products though, not products that are actually available to order...
Yup, my mistake. The Ags were not discontinued
 16. If that happens, i'll dump the strings
 17.
It's also really annoying that they leave products up on their website that are discontinued as "available to order" and slash the price on it, so they show up as one of the cheapest on google shopping, yet you have ZERO chance of getting the product from them. Just a cheap shot to get competitors price matching something they don't have or getting traffic to their site, even though they know they don't have the product you want.
Not true for me at all I was searching the net for Aguilar soapbars, and GAK were the cheapest. " special order only " ...oh oh, alarm bells But i ordered and they turned up in about a week.
 18. Thanks for the ideas chaps Yes, Labella Supersteps have the thin exposed core at the bridge. Well spotted those people. They must obviously sit a tad lower on the saddle than a string with outer core at the bridge. Dont know why i didnt think of that . They're also stainless steel so as said, ARE more magnetic. I guess a lowering of the pickup might be in order. Yes i have a single coil in the neck ( a neo magnet Entwhistle, the strongest pickup magnets known to man ) I never even thought to try the bridge pickup, which is a bucker Warman UK MM. I'll look at that again and see if it happens on the bridge pickup too Danny, i dont do the lazy winding thing. I simply cut off the excess, then poke the end down into the centre of the post, fold to the side, and then wind properly, so i'm ruling out that problem Thank the force, there will be no arrests today
 19.
Had literally just messaged the Doc. After seeing some of these comments I may withdraw my request if I do get a response. I'll pursue the company mentioned before.
Probably a wise move He hasnt posted in 2.5 years.
 20. Weird.. Changed strings recently ( fitted some Labella Super Steps ) and now my unaffected tone sounds like there's mild chorus or flange on it. At first, i thought either my chorus pedal or flange pedal was still on despite them being switched off ...maybe a fault inside one of them. They were easily proved innocent by going direct into the amp head. So now i have no culprit except the strings ? I did a bit of googly googly and there was mention of windings round the string post ( eh ? ) or strings too close to the pickup I only changed the strings and never touched the string action itself by lowering at all. Same action as before, when the old strings were on. Never had the problem then Any ideas would be great. If not, i'll start arresting people on false charges
 21.
Sorry fella: I'm not sure if there's an 'irony' emoji, but if there is I would have used it in the OP. It was merely a facetious quip to provoke debate.
OK, understood I guess without a smiley wink or something, people will take what you say seriously
 22. Rediculous You think Fender are a pillar of virtue ? How many small businesses have they bought out and shut down ?
