1. Didnt i read on here somehwre that Parcel Farce dont insure musical instruments ?
2. Nothing to add Doc, still loving it to bits and cannot find fault
3.
Really nice looking bass. A mate of mine scored an alder/rosewood one of these and I was really impressed. Terrific build quality and some sweet tones. The only thing that was a problem for me was that it felt quite heavy, so I would be really interested in the weight of yours. These are the best bang for buck bass that I have ever handled, and by some distance. Indeed this couls be all the bass you need. Congrats
Just checked it on the bathroom scales .. cant speak for their accuracy though , but the bass came out at 4.3kg , around 9.4 Lbs
4.
Oh great, thanks a bunch. I have severe gas for this exact model, and now you come along with these great photos and a really positive review. Not fair!
Glad to be of service
5. You could do a lot worse than an ESP LTD New price is around £422 + so a private seller / 2nd hand bass should be around your price. Ex demo one on fleabay , but they're a dealer, so will be higher than private sales http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ESP-LTD-B-204-SM-FL-Fretless-Bass-Guitar-Natural-Satin-EX-DEMO-/272373661571?hash=item3f6abc3f83:g:yWcAAOSw-kdX1ro5
6. I checked out the options and you're right , there's no Ash body / Rosewood FB model. You have to go to the Alder bodied models to get a Rosewood FB
7. Agreed..when i saw the headstock from the rear, i thought i've seen that shape before.
8. I posted a 2x12 but i happened to have the original box and i seemed to have collected 3 tons of packaging over the years, so was happy to post. The buyer arranged it all
9. There's no shortage of knobs in the world, thats true No, its not heavy. I might have to throw it on the bathroom scales and check. No neck dive , by the way
10. Preamp layout for those interested
11. TVM Granny Yup, the body is proper Swamp Ash, and the grain in the flesh is quite luscious.
12. I'm very impressed Option for stringing thru the body, too, should one fancy it
13.
I'll post pedals, but anything bigger I'm willing to pack it for the buyer's courier to collect, but wont ship it myself. This is from dealing with couriers in a professional capacity, I don't want ultimate responsibility for the way a third party might (miss)treat a shipment.
Indeed If you'd rather not have the responsibility, then collection only, or let the buyer book their own courier at their cost. Not only do they pay the minimum postage cost ( no inflated postage cost from seller ) if it all goes a bit turbo, then the buyer has to deal with all the courier BS And thats another reason why i only use Bank Transfer or at a pinch, Family / Friends payment via Paypal. Its so easy to get scammed by buyers on Paypal using the Goods payment , for which the seller has to pay a fee.
14. This just winged its way across the North Sea The build and finish is incredibly good...no big gaps, no varnish runs, no sharp fret ends, no buzzing, not even a dead spot. It even came fully set up, with low action ( which i like ) intonation spot on, and fitted with Daddario XL's and batteries ( 2 of , 18v ). I just made a tiny change to the pup heights, and hey presto. Wonderful array of tones, by the way. Obviously not used in anger yet, but things are looking good, people The money shots..
15. Thanks chaps Good info as ususal
16. I remember watching the Woodentops and Rag Tag & Bobtail, if that's a give away
17. Well it cant be feet and neither can it be CM So its def. inches
18. Yup, read it again Rough measuring ( there's a weird recess at the back which i approximately accounted for very generously, so if anything, the cab dimensions are slightly bigger ) Inside meaurements taken 21.5" wide x 19.5" tall x 13" deep 2 Ports ...3.25" diameter x 5.5" deep
19. Anyone notice the octaver coming in and out
20.
There's a great vintage guitar shop in Oxfordshire. .
Pray tell Dave ...
21. Thanks chaps Weight of 4 fanes is 11 kg so not too bad really. I wouldnt go for a 15 because it already has a 15, and having 4 x 6" markbass cabs and how much i like them, i figured i'd like to try smaller speakers in something else Is the 55-5000hz @ -6db on the fanes anything to worry about ?
22. Hmm...i might have to let Phil answer that one
23. Its vintage and scarce these days, and of course, all proceeds go to the Fleabag Custom Bass charity
24. Sounds like a plan
25. Getting it in one piece might a minor miracle as it looks glued. Wont know till i try though This might be take a while but will def keep you informed Phil. I had great advice from you techies when i wanted to fit the Beyma SN 110's into old Peavey TX cabs and they turned out great
