1. Indeed, i was thinking perhaps the older model that i own would be ok
2. This sounds very credible after reading that. It means some work as the baffle board will need completely changing as its housing an Ampeg Neo 15" right now
3. I can testify that either Ninja or New York will sound toptastic. I had the NY 2x12 and only sold it on becuase i went over to a pair of NY 604's
4. If you want some poke, ( matron ) the older BA 600's have plenty of oomph. I have the BA 600 neo 115 , big poky 600 watt combo and only 55 lbs
5. Just had a look myself, and no problems ( regular PC, not mobile )
6. damn scum What a shame
7. Did the perp survive ?
8. I was hoping it was a pub i knew, but i cant even remember the last time I was in H.O.T , let alone the name of the pubs.
9.
My favourite weird pub gig was when I roadied for an evening for a friend. First half went ok but at at the break we heard sounds of shouting, then a scuffle and then glass breaking from the small patio / smoking area. The landlord had apparently picked a fight with a couple of locals. He then turned all the power off and then told the entire pub to F-off and barred everyone present from ever drinking there again saying he'd remember all their faces (this included me and the band). One of his bar staff got the power back on as the punters drifted out and told us we'd get paid but should scarper quickly. The landlord then had another fit of shouting and threw himself out of the pub shouting that he wouldn't let himself back in again He headed off to the car park right next to the police station and attacked a copper who promptly locked him up for the night. The pub was not only opposite the police station but also the magistrates' court. Needless to say he lost his licence pretty soon after. . .
That takes the biscuit for weirdness. As an Oxon resident myself, which/where is that pub ?
10. Very useful info Phil, thanks You talking about the Fanes , Phil or the Faitals ?
11. S O L D
12. They do look amazing, you're right, but at over 2.5 x times the price of the Fanes at £111 each x 4 ( £444 ) + £15 delivery = £459 ...ouch ! Only 2 chances of me buying those - fat chance and no chance
13. Never thought of that Cheers
14. You have a reply James !
15. Cant do that Bill. There's no cab extension out on the combo amp
16. If Bill says there's no perceivable volume difference between using four x 4 ohm drivers and four x 8 ohm drivers, i may as well just get the 8 ohm type ?
17. Bought new by me, and am now using the Octaver on my BSW to save FX board space Faultless, 99.9% as new, with original box and some papers Can post for £4.10 which is the cheapest i can find with signature required / recorded delivery Or collect from OX28
18. PRICE £95 - REDUCED £90 Not many of these around anymore ! Working beautifully, and comes with the essential power supply and original box Photo shows the manual but for the love of dog, i cannot find it. It certainly hasnt left my home, but this place is a bermuda triangle A PDF is available, which i have downloaded and can email to anyone interested in buying I WILL POST FOR FREE
19.
Not enough to make any difference.
Thanks !
20.
you could also wire 4 16ohm speakers in parallel to present a 4ohm load to the amp, if that helps with speaker selection.
They only make the Fane in 8 ohm, and i couldnt find another driver that could match the spec and price of the Fane
21. In which case Bill, i'm assuming i'll lose a little output power changing to 8 ohm drivers ?
22. I've got the bug to fiddle with something ( matron ) and the bug is stuffing 4 x 8" drivers into an empty combo. The amp is 600 watts, but has no speaker extension, and its power is into 4 ohms, thats it. No problem, as i dont want an extra speaker anyways, as i like the idea of just the combo on its own without extra baggage As far as my limited tech ability goes, i thinks its impossible to wire four 8 ohm speakers to achieve 4 ohms I did like the look of the Fane Sovereign 8-225 at Blue Aran, and only £42 each, but alas, they only come in 8 ohm http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=FANSOV8225 Is there anything else 8" out there in 4 ohm spec at similar prices ? I had a some trouble finding anything at a reasonable price & spec to the Fanes
23. Brings back a silly mermory for me too I sold my V8 Rover SD1 at the WOMA in the 90's and i got £25 for it. It was a bit of a mess though. Anyways, the minimum fee for selling is £25 so i went home with nowt. The following week, in the post, i opened a letter to find a cheque from WOMA. Yup, it had £00.00 on it. It cost them a first class stamp, plus the bank charge for writing a business cheque for zero. Go figure
24. yup http://www.woma.co.uk/
25. Thats probably Zack, and is Paul the owners' son. Nice lad
