If thats Classic & Cool Guitars, Gary - i cant see any cabs at all, let alone a 604. They only seem to sell guitars from what i can see

Wow - good searching and a very interesting read Only 92db too, but as you say, way too expensive. I'm definately leaning towards the idea of just waiting for another 604 to pop up. At the moment, my own 604 is partnered with my MB NY 122 2x12, but i prefer the dimensions / layout of the 604 and if i find the another 604, i'll dispose of the NY 122

PS I just scanned the B & C website and they don't even list a 6" driver, so i'm guessing that Markbass had them custom built

The 6FE100 has a poor 91db rating , though double the Xmax of the 6PR150 Just out of interest, I'd be interested to know the resonance of the MB 604 B&C 6" drivers , because i love the cab.

I've been on the hunt for a MB NY 604 to match my other one, but it seems to be a fruitless search, and i refuse to buy a new one. I was thinking that, because i have a spare empty cab here ( a Peavey BW 1x15 to be precise ) , i could commandeer that old cab and with some judicious chopping about, re-screwing / baffling , and with a bit of luck ( £4.50 from Screwfix ) and a planet sized lump of magic, could turn it into a 4 X 6, approaching the size of my MB NY 604 Faital Pro's are the weapons of choice, but TS specs always baffle ( sic ) me. PS i should add that i gigged for a few years as a drummer long before i took up the bass, many many moons ago

Having played bass for many years, you have a head start on any other drummer beginners. Sadly, like many things, there's no shortcut. Thwacking out a beat in your bedroom is easy enough. The hard part comes when its time to play along with other instruments, and on top of that, fills that purposely go out of time and come back in at the right place, half beats / off beats, rolls , paradiddles, beats other than 4/4 etc etc etc ( if you get that far ) Backing tracks would be a great way to kick ( sic ) off , so thats what i would do, and then just keep slogging, and when you've got comfortable with timing, start introducing a fill and come back in on time, and when thats going well, try other options like different timings, and synchopated rhythms that work brilliantly for funk

That bass wiring is a stroke of genius. The fact that you can tell exactly what pickup is on what option, at a glance, is a brilliant idea. Ok, you may not remember how you've balanced the pickups ( bridge only, neck only, both ) as thats just a knob, but still wonderful concept The other is that the DB level sorts itself out no matter which of the single coil / split coil / humbucker combos is used. That is worth its weight in gold right there. The combination options are somewhat over the top though. Its like having 15 pickups, as he said, there are 15 different combinations to choose, although my maths says there are more Having said all that, i think the bass and Martins ideas are out of this world and would buy one in a heartbeat. Could this be unique in the bass world ?
