1. I havent been down to FL's for a few months now, so it must be time for a visit
2. Cant remember the other Cads members, but yup, Mick Crisp is the mouth harp guy, so must be the same band that Simon is in
3. If thats his band now, i dunno. He used to be the Cadillacs bassist but from what he told me, Dave sacked him Last time i saw big Simon playing was at Witney Feast and he was in band with Mick the ( brilliant ) mouth harpist
4. Big Simon usually, though there's been a few other individuals
5. Yes, i was referring to the other Dave, mr Mighty Cadillacs and Nathan is pretty handy too, though a tad manic. I like him though, he's a good bloke Yup, jammed with them too, though i usually spank the drums if i feel like jamming
6.
Welcome! I'm up in sunny Chipping Norton!
Good grief. Thats where our band rehearse. Well its Great Rollright to be precise but close enough for Jazz
7.
I often play at the blues jam at Fat Lils on the last Sunday of the month which organised by a bloke with the same name as me, which has led to some confusion. He's plays guitar, so if we can find a Dave Smith who plays drums, we'll have to try a 'The Dave Smiths' trio Didn't know they had jams on other Sundays though.
Yeah i know Dave and his son Oh i could be wrong about other sundays Dave. I think you maybe right about being once a month and not every Sunday Maybe we could descend on Fat Lils last sunday in April
8. There's another BC member on here from West Oxon too ( Witney, same as me ) but i cant remember his name. So with 3 of us from the same town, sounds like a meet at Fat Lils here would be a good place. Perhaps the Oxford Town and Didcot town members could trot along. They have a jam day every sunday from about 3 or 4 pm, but just meeting for a chat would be easier.
9. Evenin' from another Oxfordshirerian - if thats a word
10.
Well he's taken my deposit....
If only i could do a Kenneth Williams impersonation. I can only muster ' ooer matron '
11. Yup, made the mistake of playing in BOTB 16 years ago, that took 3 months of bands battling it out. The prize ? £ 200 worth of recording The battles were held at several pubs around the county - so many pubs landlords benefitted from all the extra punters wafting in, but none of the bands got a cent, natch. Add up how may non paying gigs this amounted to over the 3 months with 30 odd bands competing, then you realise its a mini scam conjured up by several pub landlords in cahoots with each other.
12. Oh , for the record. And me.. A Non sequitur (Latin for "it does not follow"), in formal logic, is an argument with a conclusion that does not follow from its premises.[sup][1][/sup] In a non sequitur, the conclusion could be either true or false (because there is a disconnection between the premise and the conclusion), but the argument nonetheless asserts the conclusion to be true, and is thus fallacious. All invalid arguments are special cases of non sequitur. The term has special applicability in law, having a formal legal definition. Many types of known non sequitur argument forms have been classified into many types of logical fallacies.
13. The bass itself doesnt give a hoot what you play on it, since its a bit of tree with some wires nailed on, and cannot speak Having said that, mine have occasionally spoke to me, if only to say " put me down, you talentless butt wart "
14. Graham decided he wanted it before PM-ing, and paid instantly. If only all deals went this way Good lad
15. Postage included ... £25 all in Stagg UPC something or other - not sure of the model as i've had a brain fade, but its about the UPC 500 size. I've done my own measurements anyways Damn fine condition - no problems, and comes with original keys. I'm getting a bigger Stagg UPC 688, as i want to add another pedal or two and as you can see, i've run out of acreage External size ( my measurements ) 520mm x 275mm x 110mm
16. Seriously ?
17. Its a shame that its 12's you need as i would be ok with stripping out the 4 x 10" Beymas i use in my practice rig and sell them on. I could live without the stack, as my gig rig is Markbass / Carvin, and have an Ampeg combo that could take over practice duties
18. What about daisy chaining ? No mention of ins/outs.
19. Neat little Beri Preamp Booster, used to tame volume jump ( or vol drop ) on pedals. At least thats what i used it for Brill condish - an utter bargain. Luxoville £15 includes postage and jam donut
20. The 2nd one i've owned , cos they is the puppies baubles. Fab condish £19.50 includes postage. -------------------------------------- MOOER Ensemble Queen - the bass version of ze Ensemble King. Footprint the size of a gnats scrote. Minter SOLD
21. My fave band.. 6 CD's from Cant Guy A Thrill onwards ( where David Palmer sang ' Dirty Work ' and Brooklyn ' ) and although not as distinct a vocal as Fagen, was an excellent crooner in his own right, and sadly had disppeared by the 2nd album, Countdown To Ecstasy Unique band , and unequalled, OCD or not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq-FveoTGpI
22. Ditto to everyone else .. good to deal with, good prices, never had a problem
