3. Oh come on, Shirley
4. Sparky, never thought of it like that
5.
the mag combo i had was pretty weighty, should have mentioned that but then my mag 4x10 is no featherweight either. rootmaster would be the option, think i already said that
Yup, quite right. I already have a lightweight separates rig, but a lightweight combo would be nice to have for easy transport. The RM combo seems to fit the bill
6. Yup, weight is definately a worry these days for me too
7. I have no fear I drop ice cubes down the vest of fear
8. I'll say it .. ' heft ' !!
9. I think one of our guitarists has those so he can mess about in Logic 10, but its not something i can do, so i havent got those Tom PS Soundcloud has this annoying thing where you click on one link and it plays that and then proceeds to play all the others automatically, then goes back and starts again. I haven't found a way of stopping that so is there a setting that i can enable ?
10.
the ones ive owned have put out plenty of volume even when 'only' running at 8ohms. the mag 300 i had which would have been putting out at most 200watts at 8ohms but was plenty loud enough to gig with 2 guitarists and loud drummer. but i cant say for sure about how conservative they are/arent
Hey Mike, i dont know how loud your guitarists are but ours are painfully loud, along with the drummer.
11.
You are probably only getting around 120 watts out of the combo without an extension cab. I found adding another cab made it giggable (twice as loud to my ears).
Adding another cab sounds good sparky, but thats a big stack for a mere 180 watt output
12. Was there much of a difference ? My ears are not what they used to be
13. The one thing i noticed about the EB was it had a fair old output for its size. I'm wondering if Ashdown's figures for amp volume are conservative ?
14. Pah .. google drive waste of time. Tom & ras, got soundcloud now These are WAV files from the studio https://soundcloud.c...-a-broken-dream https://soundcloud.com/user-182494076/chunk-cover-of-come-on
15. Despite falling in lurve with the 180, its not going to cut it volume wise with our band
16. Oops , they did a 1x15 http://www.music-blvd.com/store/product/view/Ashdown_EB_15_180_Electric_Blue_EVO_II_180W_1x15_Bass_Combo_Amp-22523972-th.html
17. Is the old 180 EB the only model ? If so, then the combo i played through was the 1 x12. I would have thought they'd have built a 2x10 or 1x15, just to have a range
18. Its the equivalent of kissing frogs to find a princess. You gotta french a lot of frogs to find the right one. JMB , Glumtree , FartySounds , et al are littered with 12 year olds, dreamers and plonkers , as noted by jezza
19. Sorry Shirley Mike.. Gear4music and Andertons both list it as 17.5kg
20. It should read Speakon , shirley
21. I like the Speaking option over regular Jack input
22. Only a 5kg difference .. think i'd prefer 17.5kg
23. Oh Em Gee Rootmaster C115T 500 EVO combo ...17.5kg ? I bet you have to cable up another cab for the 500 watts though
24. I guess i was just being greedy Mike I already have 2 complete rigs and an Ampeg BA600 1x15 combo. I was simply taken aback when i just plugged straight into this little combo ( not a pedal in sight ) and was wowed by the tone. The only thought i have as that many companies dont follow the philosophy "if it aint broke, don't fix it " so i'm already assuming they would have changed many things from the original
25. Maybe i've sorted it .. posting a links but i dont know if they'll open. Google is weird https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_lO8ucnhjj3X1FNWEk3UTJTVnM/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_lO8ucnhjj3LVdncW11U2RyRVU/view?usp=sharing
