1. I bet some here had a Peavey Firebass at some point in the life. I did, jeez what a lump
2. Too much like something from the old Sci Fi series UFO. Then again, im old No reason that they shouldn't sound good though, unless that thing about too much alloy is a factor, but i cant see them standing up to gigging, loading, unloading, cosmetic wise
3. MK ..funny as hell Roland Rivron ...wtf happened to him ?
4. Cheers Graham - already re-strung the ESP, and am enjoying !

BassBus Feedback

Bought a mint condition bass from Graham - great communications, no fuss, a great price and the best packing for a bass i've ever seen The man is a gent and & a scholar, and all round good egg. Great to deal with 11/10
6. If you like stacks of chorus on a fretless, use stacks of chorus. Dont worry about what others say. Its their personal taste and has no relevance to what anyone else likes, unless you have to follow everyone else's taste If you dont like chorus on fretless, dont use chorus. Dont worry about what others... etc etc see above Simple
7. Do not use rip offs like Paypal for sending currency other than UK stirling Use these people https://transferwise.com/ When i bought my Carvin head from Germany, ( it wasn't Thomann ) neither my bank or Paypal were acceptable on pricing. Both wanted around £30 + for the privelege of changing the £ to Euros. The German website wanted Euros, obviously Transferwise charged me around £2.50 and it was a pretty faultless exchange. The German website was a little apprehensive, but they agreed. After all, if they dont get their money, they dont send the goods, so there's no problem for them
8.
With the best will in the world, this is just never going to work because it requires people to get things right when they post their ad or sell an item. On a daily basis we still end up moving numerous adverts to the correct forums and if people can't get that basic step right then any further layers of granularity are just going to result in dozens of extra subforums full of stuff that doesn't belong there. Whilst I can see the logic in what is being proposed, the reality is that forum (which is what we are of course!) software simply isn't geared up to do heavy duty e-commerce stuff.
This ^
9. Looks like it was painted with a Homebase wallpaper brush - by a crew of Bonobos
10. Understatement Just had to post a close up or 2
11. Some may like it.. But check the close ups, seriously I've called the police http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-5-String-Fretless-Dragon-Electric-Bass-Art-Guitar-w-Case-23247-/181933605429?hash=item2a5c168235:g:zowAAOSwEgVWSXpS&clk_rvr_id=987696951247&rmvSB=true
12. I bet now i've shown some interest in a PB-1 that i'll never find one
13. That sounds about right GB I'd pay that for a PB-1 I'm sure, in the past anyways, that HBP-1 pre's have been in the £7/800 area, which is there abouts, 5 times the price of the PB-1, so i wasnt far off
14. SM110/N https://www.beyma.com/products/lowmidfrequency/110SMN8
15. Dont forget Beymas They may not be NEOS but they're pretty awesome drivers. You can get them on special order from Blue Aran
16. Yeah thats it - i thought i'd seen one on here some moons ago. A non UK BC member was selling some J basses and he put video clips up of the sounds of these basses, and in the clip was using a demeter HPB-1. Hey, what a memory i got Mind you - i bet the Dem is about 5 times the price of the PB-1
17. Aha! They're out there - thanks GB. Didn't one of the Demeter pre's contain a Q sweep ?
18. What i'd like to see on the pre section of an amp, for a change, is instead of just the usual mid freq adjustments, actually add a Q sweep, like the filter on ACG bass pre's I dont remember seeing such an addition on amps, though there may well be some out there with this function
19.
30 odd years ago, a workmate lent me The Captain and Me, and Stampede, both of which I have loved and play regularly. I recently bought from Amazon, from a series entitled "Original Album Series" a box set (loads of choices, all 5 albums for around a tenner a set, worth checking out) containing the 2 albums I already had plus Tolouse Street, Vices/Habits, and Taking it to the streets. I'm loving them so much I'm hungry for more. Are there any more albums than the 5 I have? I love the country rock feel particularly of the Doobies, but can anyone recommend me someone else to check out. We all know and love the Eagles of course, but there may well be some lesser known gens that I can lose myself in. A little less keen on the later, Michael McDonald more soulful albums (sorry Mike!) Thanks in advance
You simply have to get The Captain & Me CD Its packed with great tunes and the usual fab Doobies vocals Ukiah Evil Woman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt0CexXknTk
20. This was mounted in a project bass, and did its job, but the project has moved on and parts are up for sale Entwistle JBXN bridge pup, hard nickel adjustable pole pieces, neodynum magnets, as opposed to the ceramic jobs in the JBX ( same size pups though ) There are signs of them being second hand, because thats what they are Be careful how you handle these brutes because the magnets are vicious. I will not be responsible for them leaping off and attaching themselves to your dog's collar, or your belt buckle, or your watch strap I'll post for free ! Enwistle dimensions in the link. 21. Not a big fan of photos of me, but i apparently i had to have one for our band ArseBook page
22. As the owner of both Warm Leatherette and Island Life, yup - i dig the nutter. But especially Sly and Robbie ..those 2 are just mustard But i'm in agreement with OMR above... the pretenders version of Private Life is just so much more emotional , for me anyways. Its Hynde's unusual voice, JHS beautiful guitar sound and that awesome but simple bass line
23. 11,500 Funny, cos when someone offers our band £50 for a gig, i cant hear a thing. We recently got a £350 gig for later in the year and i heard that fine
