1. I know you're sorted now, but re. the AKAI's.. If you want to sample, it will have to be the MPX16. The MPX8 only plays back samples stored via SD card Also, the MPX8 is a right bar steward....finicky about formats ( 16 bit WAV only and stereo WAVS halve the memory ), getting samples to load can be a pain, lots of load time if samples are big MB's Maybe the MPX16 is a similar nightmare, only with the ability to sample being the difference Best avoided
2. CTS and Alpha seem to be the ones most people go for / have heard of, but you could try Bourns pots. They seem to be great quality. As always, YMMV
3. Ouch - playing and singing. Luckily i only have to cope with backing vox, praise the force. Even then, some stuff i cannot do, depending on the bass line i'm twiddling at the time. Gotta respect the ability to do both simultaneously And..i never knew the Mac played a Wal. I must have been living in a cave.
4.
I wasn't worrying. And I found it funny. As did a few others. so, you know, lighten up...
IMO i think the Mac is a fine basser. He's not in yer face, true, but he's written some sweet bass lines. Paperback Writer is a killer. Wonder if that was on the Hofner ?
5. What a lovely bass Shame about the tiresome same old slap sh*te.
6. Yup the toned down colour helps a tad ... still too much for me though. One man's goat baguette is another man's arsenic bap
7. Fo sho I loved Straker and his crew. I just dont like those cabs - Italian flair has gone a bit too far. Bit marmite maybe. Some will love, some will hate. Thats the joy though !!

9. I bet some here had a Peavey Firebass at some point in the life. I did, jeez what a lump
10. Too much like something from the old Sci Fi series UFO. Then again, im old No reason that they shouldn't sound good though, unless that thing about too much alloy is a factor, but i cant see them standing up to gigging, loading, unloading, cosmetic wise
11. MK ..funny as hell Roland Rivron ...wtf happened to him ?
12. Who's ya daddy !
13. Cheers Graham - already re-strung the ESP, and am enjoying !

BassBus Feedback

Bought a mint condition bass from Graham - great communications, no fuss, a great price and the best packing for a bass i've ever seen The man is a gent and & a scholar, and all round good egg. Great to deal with 11/10
15. If you like stacks of chorus on a fretless, use stacks of chorus. Dont worry about what others say. Its their personal taste and has no relevance to what anyone else likes, unless you have to follow everyone else's taste If you dont like chorus on fretless, dont use chorus. Dont worry about what others... etc etc see above Simple
16. Do not use rip offs like Paypal for sending currency other than UK stirling Use these people https://transferwise.com/ When i bought my Carvin head from Germany, ( it wasn't Thomann ) neither my bank or Paypal were acceptable on pricing. Both wanted around £30 + for the privelege of changing the £ to Euros. The German website wanted Euros, obviously Transferwise charged me around £2.50 and it was a pretty faultless exchange. The German website was a little apprehensive, but they agreed. After all, if they dont get their money, they dont send the goods, so there's no problem for them
17.
With the best will in the world, this is just never going to work because it requires people to get things right when they post their ad or sell an item. On a daily basis we still end up moving numerous adverts to the correct forums and if people can't get that basic step right then any further layers of granularity are just going to result in dozens of extra subforums full of stuff that doesn't belong there. Whilst I can see the logic in what is being proposed, the reality is that forum (which is what we are of course!) software simply isn't geared up to do heavy duty e-commerce stuff.
This ^
18. Looks like it was painted with a Homebase wallpaper brush - by a crew of Bonobos
19. Understatement Just had to post a close up or 2

21. I bet now i've shown some interest in a PB-1 that i'll never find one
22. That sounds about right GB I'd pay that for a PB-1 I'm sure, in the past anyways, that HBP-1 pre's have been in the £7/800 area, which is there abouts, 5 times the price of the PB-1, so i wasnt far off
