  1. He reads stuff when his name is attached to it. And so he should.
  2. There's another thread on this but the other one needs mod approval, so just post here
  3. Yup, he does https://www.basschat.co.uk/profile/338-poptart/
  4. If you have bought the Jack 12 plans, then build the cab with the recommended drivers. There's little point in going off piste. Bill knows what he's doing.
  5. Well, as the amp is behaving itself, there's no need to fiddle with it anymore, but just for the record, none of the 3 Vols ( 2 x channel , 1 master ) had any affect on the loudness of the crackle. It's been fine and dandy these last couple of weeks. Thanks aged h and Thanks all !
  6. Side jacks should go straight into Room 101
  7. I'm a righty, but use all 4 fingers of my left fretting hand, so i'd have a bit of trouble without the little finger, though the way humans adapt to such things as lost digits lost limbs etc , is amazing, so i would agree with the posters who say learn to play without the little pinky
  8. Shame i missed out on new standard JB CF neck, but i have had the pleasure of owning a vintage Status. Unique axes and British too. Glad Rob Green is ok, and wish himself and Dawn all the best vibes
  9. Good grief - all becomes clear. I stopped reading / waiting for any front page messages, as before , it just said they're not taking new orders, he will update at sometime, so not really an indepth explanation, and basically i havent bothered reading the front page for a while. I guess that message is not that old. Well, it's a relief that Rob is ok. I wish him well. 2nd hand Status basses are set to rise, i reckon
  10. I must have been waiting for Status to update for months and months about their necks, and they never do. I've been after a jazz CF neck for a long time I gave up. I suppose SG might be concentrating on full basses, where the money is, thats if they get going again. I can see them going t*ts up if they dont sort themselves out
  11. I dont have enough basses/guitars to bother with hangers, but i wouldnt use them in any case. They'd just get covered in dust, so i leave my 2 ( currently ) in their cases
  12. Yup, did the single valve re-seat, but many of the solder joints are hidden, so unless i dismantle the amp, there's no way i can get to them. I did press the IC's I'll leave it alone now, as i seem to have sorted it, but i dont know how
  13. After poking and pushing, static/crackle seems to have disappeared, and that's before i put a short cable in the master FX send / receive channel, so i guess i dont need that FX send sockets cable anymore ? I guess time will tell
  14. No swollen caps, no burnt smell, connectors that i could reach without dismantling PCB boards reseated
  15. Looking at the hundreds of solder joints, and their location, i may have trouble in that respect
  16. Thanks ! I'll have a go at all that - the amp is Genz Shuttlemax 9.2
  17. Just to say, the amp plays fine otherwise. No loss of volume or EQ , and the crackle/static doesnt get louder with amp volume
  18. I've checked the suspect bits - speakon cables, guitar cables, and swapped amps, and its definately the amp. It has dual speakon outs and the crackle/static is apparent on both outputs. It's also a dual channel, ( Tube + Fet ) and swapping channels makes no difference. What is the next procedure for a home detective before it goes to a pro ?
  19. I've had dealings for gear with Brian and the man is a scholar
  20. M13 with 2 extras The little box velcroed on the right is the SFX micro thumpinator
  21. https://www.basschat.co.uk/profile/11432-alyctes/content/
  22. Nursery Crime for me is the killer discette
  23. Another cracking bass, Rob.
  24. Hmm... McCready zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  25. There's not a lot of room internally, so how did they get you inside ? Unless the rock musician version of you is about 1" tall.
