Stop looking at my waffle

Practically brand new AMPEG PF 500 , with original shipping boxes, inner and outer , both stamped Ampeg PF 500. Plus original Ampeg paperwork ( unopened ) and mains power lead Bought new by me early May , and has not left my house, or been gigged. I'm going back to a dual channel amp, and thats the only reason for selling. It's a superb amp, pokey, lightweight , and with a decent EQ Prefer collection, but will post at cost

Yeah i guess i can throw the surplus parts in a draw. I'm surprised i can't buy a pair of those in a kit. The install accessories would then be tailored for 2 pickups.
-
Thanks Woody. It still seems that buying 2 pickups means i get 2 of the large connector blocks, but surely , looking at the diagram for 2 pickups, i only need 1 ? And judging by the diagram 9 or 10, which seems the closest, they assume a pickup selector switch. And diag 9 uses 1 master volume and 1 master tone. Diag 10 uses 2 volumes and 1 tone. So i get left with a surplus main connector block with either diags, plus a spare tone and spare volume pots diag 9, or a spare tone pot diag 10. This doesnt seem a financially good way to purchase 2 of the HZ pickups

I've been looking at EMG HZ pickups, and if i only wanted one pickup, it seems straight forward. One pickup comes with everything needed, apparently. But if i order 2, i get the same install system as 1 pickup. So double everything in the list. Surely they need to connect to each other somehow , like a regular pair of pickups. Since these use solderless connectors, not sure how this is done, and do i need exactly 2 of everything , as this is what i will get if buying a pair.

He wasnt offering an opinion. It was an attempt at being funny, because that description was already posted. Screenshot of Yamaha description -
Well, i can't sing , i ain't pretty, and my legs are thin. Nor can i keep time. I'd be perfect for that horrible mess of a band Oh, 'ang on.. Not much hair. Over 40. Dont move around around. No dress sense. Forget it

I wonder what on earth a J curve line array is. Did Yamaha invent this as marketing BS and it means nowt. ? Well, we will know if Fitzy laughs at it, whether it's a real thing or not @Bill Fitzmaurice ? -

Sorry Al, no live stuff. Our rhyth git and vocalist has a humungus gaff in the country and a monster lounge, so we have fired it up with my bass and a backing drum kit, and vox, and it was damn impressive. We've been used to an old style PA ( heavy cabs, heavy amp etc ) As Fitzy said, its probably compromised for large auditorium gigs, but club / pub stuff, no probs -

I went for the Yamaha Stagepas 1k and bought 2 of them. They're £1700 from Thomann or £1900 from Andertons, for 2 I guess these are a compromise, since the tops sit in the sub casing. There's connectors inside the top of the 12" sub, and the spacers ( bottom and middle of towers are spacers with electrical connectors ) and of course the very top bit has all 10 1.5" drivers plus the connectors to the spacer below it. The top tower can sit direct on the sub, on one spacer , or on both spacers, depending on the height one wants the tops to fire at. -
Likewise. Probably the same shop. Everybody's fave Bass shop on here tried to stiff me while my £1500 bass was on commission sale. The thing disapeared, and to this day it has never reappeared. Of course the owner knew what happened. I just got told a huge pack of lies, and where the story changed in the middle of the debacle. More lies. After 3 months of back and forth BS, i did the threat. I was paid within a few days. I've never known such an outright lying scumbag. I wouldn't buy an E string off them, and havent bought a single item off them since

Hats Off To Har Max Normal

They'd be perfect for my 2 luddite friends.

That Ebay active Laney looks pretty damn good. If we hadnt any monitors at all, 3 of those would have been ideal. The T.amp is probably the answer for the other 2 guys though.
-
I'm not wasting my time, as you call it , because it's not my issue. I'm just posting on behalf of what the others want. I dont care how they sort it. I'm just asking questions I have my monitor and that'll do me. Yup, the Stagepas ( each stack ) just has a jack monitor out with just a volume control. But we have a passive mixer so this has aux busses, so we wont be using the Stagepas for monitors. I can pass on recoms. for amps etc. They want to hear FOH. All instruments go through PA. 2 guitars / 1 bass / 3 mics / backing track That Thomann looks like a bargain , as long as it doesnt produce sparks

Good point, but you can just see the scenario coming up where one of the guys says ' mine's too loud '
-
How far are ya ? Only kidding
-
Oh boy - i didnt check the weight. Yep that bad boy is a no no. Lemmywinks has an Alto as well, so do you mean him or me ? Mine's the Alto Tourmax SXM 112A 400 watt Here's a link, and ignore the 800 watt. That's Beau Locks. 12” coax woofer, 1” neodymium driver - Continuous - 400 W ( 335 W LF + 65 W HF ) 11 Kg https://www.simplysoundandlighting.co.uk/alto-tourmax-sxm112a-12-800w-active-wedge-monitor

Gets stranger - if you click on the tiny " buy new for £92 " - it takes you to another Albion for £74
-
Yep, i saw that delivery - 65 squid for an 83 squid B Stock amp. In small letters, it also says " buy new for 92 " Bit odd - only 9 quiddies more for a new one ??
-
My powered wedge is an Alto, funnily enough. My guys will not buy powered monitors, because we have passives available. So its just about which would be a good power amp, and how many channels would we need.
-
The PA is an active Yamaha Stagepas 1000 but we have 2 of 'em. Each stack can run 1 powered monitor , but the only control over them is a volume control on the stack Yes Woody, one of the guys has a couple of passive monitors, so we dont need to buy more, but just wondering how to power them.
-
Not in a hurry, as we're still in rehearsals, but in our trio, we have one 400 watt powered wedge monitor ( mine ) and the other 2 guys have nothing. The mixer is passive ( no one will be buying a powered mixer ) so at some point we'll need to be able to run 2 extra passive monitors. Can anyone suggest what type/sort of amp we'll need ? It's for on stage monitoring, so presumably, it doesnt need to be a beast. I assume that we need a dual channel at least ? I suspect suggestions of IEM's , but i'm only looking for answers to the above
