  1. Ditto, but the downside of living 2 floors up is that my spare room is wall to wall music gear and all the other non-descript junk that gets stored. There's so much stuff i have a one way system for walking in and out.
  2. I've often wondered, and why no one seems to ask, is when using octave down, how the hell does your cab speaker cope with such a low note, on say the open E on a 4 string ? If that's a dumb question, no fear, i'll have myself arrested
  3. I'm looking at getting a gloss black finish on some wood, using a clear gloss poly varnish on top to achieve this. Options are matt black paint or fiebings black dye, and then poly varnish. Paint i assume will need a primer, so thats another stage , 3 in all with paint Fiebings will go straight onto wood, and then poly over that. I dont know which will give the better uniform finish for the poly. Fiebings looks like it will definately be the easiest to apply, but i done know how uniform / patchy this stuff is. Heard good things about Fiebings. Not as messy as spraying, either. Which to choose ...anyone with experience ?? The other question is does polyurethane varnish need flatting between coats ? I assume yes, but not sure which grades of wet n dry are needed
  4. The music The fight was just handbags, as someone said earlier
  5. Personally, i would leave nothing outside regarding electronics. Dry or not
  6. Yes it was both Fox and Fleety. And yes they made a right spaniels supper of the speeches but not really their fault, due to the autucue fault mentioned. Maybe learning the quite easy lines would have been a fail safe. It wasnt exactly the gettysburg address
  7. He seems to be about as popular as a tax audit, and about as funny. Still, the man can play
  8. Ditch the 1x15 and get another 4x10 , same model. Just run one cab per channel. That'll be your speaker / amp problem solved, at least. It would certainly shift some air That old myth of using a 15" for lows and 10's for mids/highs was busted a loooong time ago, and yet ...still being touted. Bit like the people who keep perpetuating , incorrectly, that guitars with Vibrato arms are called Tremolo arms.
  9. If the drummer had some glasses, he could have found his glasses
  10. Singer looked a tad drunk, beer in hand. Wasn't exactly a discreet way to deal with whatever the problem was.
  11. Completed sales: In January 2022 we added an auto lock feature to the Marketplace. If you are successful in your sale, simply add 'sold' or ' withdrawn' to the title and the listing will automatically lock. This means other users will see that the item is no longer available. If the sale falls through for any reason and the item becomes available, please contact a mod to have the listing unlocked.
  12. The active anti-inflammatory ingredient in turmeric is curcumin. It's possible just to buy the active ingredient separately, should anyone want to.
  13. I thought i heard different tuning too, but anyways, must have been fun to build it , even if it's kind of impractical.
  14. He could, at a pinch, strap a 54 gallon drum to each corner and float out to sea.
  15. Last recording i did was in a studio, using my Rally Basso 4 banger through an Ashdown Electric Blue combo and D.I.'d into the desk
  16. I'm trying to think how one would cut a slot in those screws... presumably with a hacksaw. But even a mini hacksaw needs enough space for forward and backwards motion, and with the screws flush to the body, i dont see how that could be done. Maybe a dremel with a hard cutting disc ? This would negate the need to have space for a hacksaw to work
  17. Plenty of good suggestions, especially the triangular butt of a file or what not. This is the cheap version of an Easy Out tool. If you're only going to do this once, then those methods will work as long as you can drill a decent hole in the screw shaft. Just for referebce, the photo is my own easy outs, and you do the same method as posted above. Drill a hole suitable for the size of the Easy Out. You'll need a smaller one than i have here. Tap the Easy Out bit down into the drilled hole and wind it it back out, either with the proper tool, like those that come with a tap and die set, or some Mole Grips.
