  1. Thats just how capitalism works. Just about every corporate monster keeps re-inventing.
  2. Me too, though there are 3 models in this shape with those style pickups. I had a the Motion B 1 with the monster bridge Awesome bass
  3. Thanks Matt, seems like a good option. As i need a 2nd pedal, that might be the one to get
  4. Karate punch board
  5. Ta AT So, D'addario. I think they make them for Fender. Could be mistaken
  6. I usually take off strings fitted to basses i've sold in the past, putting new strings on ..though not every time But those i take off , if in good nick, get coiled up and chucked in my accessories draw, but i never seem to remember to keep the packaging when i buy strings so any strings removed become ' unkown make ' after a few months. Just out of curiosity , i fished out some decent strings today but i'm wondering what they are. Hoping the colours are a clue. There's no silk wraps at the tuner end
  7. PS those Bright Onion pedals look like biz.
  8. Basically, i dont need both instruments to be live at the same time, but both amps will be. When we say amps, one is the bass amp, and the other is the desk I'll say it again, this time with the pedal in case i confused anyone. Both bass and acoustic wil be sharing an FX pedal ( has 1 in and 1 out ) so if i connnect both instruments into a 2 input switch box first, then out of the switch box is 1 output. That 1 output then goes to FX pedal input. Then out of the FX pedal into another AB , so each each instrument can be spilt off. Bass to bass rig /amp and Acoustic to the desk I guess ABY is not needed , just 2 AB boxes - does that sound more correct. I never need to combine bass and acoustic, so i guess the Y function of the switches is not needed I think
  9. I'll PM
  10. I had a think and it seems you are bang on. !
  11. Forgot to mention, both instruments are sharing an FX pedal, which only has 1 in 1 out.
  12. Tricky one I need a switching box with 2 inputs and 2 outputs, one for bass one for acoustic. Bass out to amp and acoustic out to a desk. Now, i cant seem to find a 2 in 2 out box, unless i pay some silly price, so will 2 x ABY boxes work if i reverse one of them ? I dont need them combining at all. Only one or the other. EG. First ABY used back to front, so 2 instruments in, and single out to another ABY single input, and then that gets me 2 outputs, if that makes sense. I can then split the 2 instruments off. Sounds messy and it means 2 pedals taking up a lot of space, but ABY boxes ( 1 in 2 out ) are helluva lot cheaper than the 2 in 2 out boxes i've seen... think Radial. No way hose a The Behringer AB200 looked like i was onto something till i found they've disappeared off the market, and then i discovered they're battery only. No way hose b Gotta be 9v mains supply. The other thing is, are all ABY boxes able to be used back to front as well as the regular way round ? I dont know how tell just by looking online, and it never seems to be in the descriptions as to whether its possible I was looking at the Fender model https://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/fender-aby-2-way-switch-pedal.html but again, doesnt say if it can be used in reverse Any suggestions on a 29 quid note please
  13. I maintain my original post.
  14. Someone asked Dimarzio that very question, and Dimarzio said they were epxoxied. But many people have changed their covers and it appears its just some kind of glue , maybe hot glue. Certainly not epoxy, which then wouldnt be feasible to get them off. Some say that Dimarzio didnt want anyone messing with their pickups. The way to do it, apparently, is to slip a thin blade ( scalpel ? ) down the inside of the cover and gently work round the circumference separating the glue
  15. Not in my experience. Ask me how i know PP can fcuk off
  16. Blimey H - 40lbs ? Without packaging ? What kind of strap did that need ?
  17. That was utterly brilliant
  18. Indeedy I've just sold a bass, my Aria PRO ll SB 900 , which weighed 10lbs +, and the whole packed weight was 111 kg I mean 11 kg
  19. Nah, its monster double packed. Packing weighs more than the bass
  20. Ha! You've been here long enough to know
  21. Its alright. He saw 168 lbs on his scales and then converted online to KG's. I think he missed the decimal point , 16.8 lbs. It must be an old fashioned weighing machine if it doesnt show KG's Phew etc
  22. It would be ace of spades for heavy metal
  23. Currently in PM's with a bass seller here, and his bass, packaged , weighs 77kg. I said you mean 7.7kg ?? He insisted its 77kg. So the packaging weighs in the region of 73kg, give or take. I'm going to have to decline. My TE combo weighs half that and i can barely lift it
