    feedback for Deedee

No trade with Dan as such, but he spotted an item on Ebay that i had stated i wanted on here. It was in Dan's town way oooop north. A long way Dan told me if i bid and won, he would pay for it , collect it for me, and drive it down halfway between us. This has now all happened and i have my parcel. I couldn't even give the man any petrol money, try as i might. Dan is a scholar and a gent of the highest order, and a real human being. I scincerely hope that i can do him a favour in the future.
  4. Anyone looking for a stunning Lionheart with the carbon neck ( Black Raven neck they call it IIRC ) could check this out. Considering the price of new Enfields, this is a steal https://www.facebook.com/groups/BassPlayersMarketUK/permalink/3783210605023873/?sale_post_id=3783210605023873
  5. He has a fascination with Martin Scorcese
  6. Its on ye olde Tube, or is this a diffenrent one ? Yup, wrong one. Still, bit of humour bewteen them
  7. This might be of some help.. back when i was the drummer with the Roland TD in a 3 piece Hendrixy band, the singer who was also the guitard, recorded us in his bedroom on cassette ( yeah those were days ). It was done live with the 3 of us, but Rick later added the vocals. Its a poor recording by todays standards, and its warts and all, mistakes etc. but will give you a small idea of what 20 year old Rolands sounded like back then. Expect better these days, especially if recorded with more finesse. Best under headphones . Listening on mobile speakers wont really do the job
  8. Ex Roland TD8 drummer here ! I think the brain is pretty important because of the stuff it can do, so pick the best you can afford. The hard pads versus mesh heads - well the mesh heads are the things to have, though these are easily upgradeable. The mesh heads can be cleaned, but more useful is they can be tuned like an acoustic head. I ended up upgrading some of the hard pads for more mesh heads, and kept the hard pads for effects, which is in the brain. This among other things is why the brain is more important. It was cheaper to get more heads/toms than a superior brain. Roland were THE leccy drum kit people back 20 years ago when i had mine but, there's plenty on the market now. DDrum are supposed to be excellent too
  9. One of the most obvious ones would be Hendrix's version of Dylan's All Along The Watchtower Everyone and their mum has covered Born Under A Bad Sign, so its a difficult choice, but i like the Kenny Wayne Shepherd cover
  10. How things change over the months. The hair's gone in a fit of extra boredom
  11. Proof that it can be done with taste. Nice one, Melvin
  12. Bit OT, sorry, but i used to get Prince mixed up with Jesse Johnson back in the 80's. Equally good musicians, but Prince was a multi instrumentalist, and not sure about Johnson Still , Johnson was magic on that there geeeeeter. Kicks in for real about 2:50 if you cant wait and a bit more after that at 4:15
  13. His mum must have warned him about talking to stangers.
  14. That was excellent. Rivetting stuff By the way... which one's Pink ?
  15. Here's a treat for JM fans. This is the live version of Rainy Night House i mentioned. I have this on CD too Absolutely beautiful bass by Max Bennett. And check the control she has over her voice. Remember this is live, and not a flaw anywhere. Best under headphones ...awesome
  16. Jeeeeez. 2.5mm I could get over excursion on that TF just by blowing on it
  17. A winch would be useful.. Great job on that cab, as it looks awesome

    Jazz

The covers were aftermarket, but they're being replaced with Barts very soon. Next week according to Thomann The switches are a passive/active, and the other is used to either have a blend of both pups equally, when in passive, or bridge pup only when in passive

Some better shots. Fender Hi-mass and J Retro 01, and as i speak, there's some Bart Classic pups on the way from Thomann
  20. Its only someone's opinion, so these rankings are meaningless but we all know that. I have several JM CD's and my own meaningless opinion is that Hejira , Court n Spark, and Hissing of Summer Lawns should be top 3. I have all 3 and if i had to push one into top spot, it would be Court n Spark, but i love all three I will give a shout out to the live " Miles of Aisles " and not least because there's a wonderful live rendition of Rainy Night House. Supposedly written about Leonard Cohen, but its just something i read somewhere many decades ago, so take with a pinch of salt
  21. I'm alive and kicking Andy, thanks mate ! Yes, its an ex Retrovibe neck, and its stated as such in Peter's original thread. To re-iterate, it's one of only ( or was ) 2 white P/J vibes he built. I believe he became Chowny at some point. It was a very well built and accurate neck.
  22. Ah yes. TNT Back in the 80's when i was a London Motorbike courier, everyone in the trade called them Tomorrow Not Today. Things have probably changed these days though
