  1. I've been using a W.E.P. station for many years, though 3 of the 4 rolls of solder i have is ancient lead 60/40 , which is about 30 years old. I've barely used any, as i dont solder often. I seem to have enough for a lifetime and then some. This is my bad boy solder station, though mine wasnt as expensive, because i bought it many years ago. Several tips are included.   2. Thanks Wasnt totally sure about the era of his Ovation. Just new he started using one at some point in the distant past and guessed at PiL
  3. U-shaped pole pieces in the bridge and the quad coil in the neck that was unusual at the time, with neck pup having gain control on each coil

  5. Nope, a Mk3 is a very different beast. I had one. More conevntional shape but still had the bizarre pickup arrangement

  9. Just remembered Magazine ( remember them ? Great band ) bass player used a Magnum 2 amongst other models

  13. Might be worth detaching the neck, as sometimes there's factory info in there. Maybe take some close ups of the pots , etc

  18. Just remembered back a few years, gigging at The Seacourt Hotel ( Oxonians will know the pub ) and some drunk amoeba wandered up to our rhyth git mid song and said to him " you're a c**t " There were repercussions for the amoeba later after we packed up
