  1. Joan is sheer class. The first album was a killer, and i still own a copy, though now on CD. A treasure in my music armoury for over 35 years. Great band too Love the tone of that BC Rich through his Acoustic 370 rig, especially on the Show Some Emotion track
  2. You're posting in the wrong section. Try here ... https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/13-general-discussion/
  3. Yup, the shock with TE is that they understate the wattage, then everyone gets a surprise when that lowly 150 watts sounds like 500. ( or whatever ) I love myths
  4. You wont be a virgin forever so we'll be expecting some gratuitous sax at some point. Dont give up
  5. I thought the strings on such extreme short scales were normal tension, but tuned an octave higher I think some have used either an octave down pedal, but turning off the original signal leaving the tuning as standard E to A. Possibly a pitch pedal as an alternative
  6. It does seem that other couriers are doing ok. I ordered an amp from Thomann on the 19th and it was here yesterday
  7. Re. the original pickup. Both pups in my SB900 were quite dodgy. When throwing the switches ( i have 2 pickups ) the drop in volume was so bad, it was unplayable. The volume drop was only on the D and G strings, weirdly. So i tried Rautia and sent an email, but the cost of £ to euro was exortionate .. paypal and bank wanted about £30, so i asked if he would go through Transferwise, but he wouldnt, which was strange because they're a reputable company. Used them before. He also quoted me a long delay, (2 months ) so i tried Aaron Armstrong here in the UK, and he built 2 pickups for me to original spec, and had them delivered to me in a week.
  8. What ATsampson said Just looked at the soldering in detail and its very messy in places
  9. Dear cliff, those guys are good. Its jaw dropping work. Their reputation is well deserved
  10. Nothing wrong with that. What is greed after all ? Capitalism. We're all in the same system
  11. Woah. This is akin to slapping the baby Jesus round the chops Good luck though, and it appears to be in excellent hands
  12. Yup, some fun swearing in the fecking mic You have a lot of patience, no doubt because you do astro-photography, but thanks mate, and all others who tried to help. I kinda figured this woulkd end up being a techy job, but was always worth a shot. If i was more tech orientated, might have got further. Back in the cupboard ! Fecking Ashdown eh ?
  13. Why has this now become a copy of the other Covid thread ?
  14. I thought the holes on a P were 17mm, but may be wrong
  15. As long as they fit properly, i guess the only caveat is that 2 of them will possibly need winding in the opposite direction when tuning up. Not a big deal
  16. Ok - fired up the scope again, though i couldnt get the combo and mic seperated enough to stop that funny squaring off on the peaks, even with the mic level on about number 2 or 3 and the combo 2 metres from the mic Took 4 screenshots at various points - just looks like gobbledygook to me
  17. Dammit - i'll try again and look for that permission
  18. Just tried again, and now the graph will not work. I know the mic is working because i shouted some obscenities into it and the meter is working fine, jumping up and down to some choice words, but the graph on the scope is not even registering. Screen shot of me swearing into the mic, which has peaked And screenshot of whats happening on the scope...
  19. They do indeed look smoother . On mine, that scope made my peaks look square on open E and they looked identical with other strings
  20. I dont own an active bass David, so all tests are done with my passive bass.
  21. Nothing understated about this bad boy thumping bass from Amy Wino House
